Meditation

On 1st December 2020, the sensor array platform of the Arecibo Radio Telescope in Puerto Rico came crashing down, destroying its huge reflector dish below and bringing a sorrowful end to a once magnificent piece of engineering. This is my tribute to the Arecibo Observatory and the continued search for answers among the stars. I hope you will enjoy it!

Reflections’ rising stars Northling present a brand new live EP direct from their debut show at South London’s The Old Joinery in September 2023.

Marking the release of their latest four-track project ‘Hallowed Ground’ on Reflections, the six piece collective showcased their rich indie-electronica sound to an intimate audience for the first time.

Having already been supported by reputable stations BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music and BBC Introducing, Northling took to the stage to exhibit their undeniable musicianship and chemistry as a band. Swooning the crowd through delicately crafted lyrics, textures and rhythms, the group explore both the melancholic and euphoric moments throughout their set, effortlessly captivating the room.

I chose to blend my favorite melodies from two songs: Carol of the Bells and Veni, Veni, Emmanuel (O Come O Come Emmanuel) into a seamless piece of music. Because of the complex nature of these songs, I decided not to include lyrics - rather to accentuate my favorite pieces of each song with cello, fiddle and mythical vocals. This project has been a special work for me as a music producer student. I didn't realise about the  power of  sound  and first I became aware of it when I was doing a research about Cymatics. Cymatics is a study of wave phenomena, ability of sound to organise and re-pattern matter. During this research I became familiar with Solfeggio tones and I started to deeper investigate this subject. This powerful scale was lost and forgotten for thousands of years and rediscover by Dr. Joseph S. Puelo in 1974. He was guided to the Pythagorean method of numerical reduction which led to his deciphering of the frequency of these notes. I read a book Healing Sounds, the power of harmonics wrote by Jonathan Goldman who is an authority on sound healing and a pioneer in the field of harmonics. The book shows scientific and spiritual  point of view about transformative power of sound for healing on physical and spiritual levels. This knowledge was well known and  understood in Ancient times when people developed specific chants and tones for healing. Overtone chanting also known as vocal harmonics is ability of human voice to create two or more notes at the same time. This ability was practiced around the world  mainly by shamans, healers and monks in Tibet,  Mongolia, South America and  Africa. Also in Australia by Aborigines who instead of voice were using didgeridoos. 
I was so fascinated about that and  I decided to create a piece of music using healing Solfeggio frequencies, harmonics and overtone chanting. I found how to tune in a scale in Logic and I started to experiment with Solfeggio tones and harmonics. I was creating a sound waves in specific frequency. Pan fundamental sound hard to one side and harmonics to another.  Also I added some ambience sounds to create a space, didgeridoo and overtones chanting by Tibetan monks. Music slowly  entering to state of relaxation starts from 396 Hz and going up to 417 Hz, 528 Hz 639 Hz, 741 Hz, 852 Hz and finish at 963 Hz. Normally there is 9 Solfeggio tones including 174 Hz and 285 Hz but just seven of them correspond to chakras.
Now you have a chance to experience these frequencies. Join to the journey through yourself, listen your inner voice and expand your consciousness. We are living in times of planetary evolution. For many different reasons we becoming aware about ourselves and about human potential. Sound play main role in these times and is helping us create a better world.

Der psychedelische Charakter ist durch den Vocal gesetzt und somit eine abwechslungsreiche Variante.

Ethnical characterized landscapes accompanied by deep, traditional, oriental vocals and sounds, supporting a mysterious synthecism. Deep and dark, driving and dreamy. A comprehensive tune, which shows the mental condition in another way. Perfect for a meditation-dance in the club.

Slow Nomadens Remix is an even deeper equivalent to the original. Filled with organic percussions and an extended ensemble of traditional instruments, which are playing the gallery, next to synthetic arps, in the center of interest. The psychedelic character is marked through the vocal and therefore a diversified variation.

Release info:
Bahram's instrument is the Persian santoor, a traditional stringed instrument of which it is said it could create the sound of emptiness. Besides the santoor, he began playing the Persian setar and ney, a Persian bamboo flute. Soon afterwards, he began to sing to his music, which had hitherto been instrumental in character: he often quotes the poems and wisdom of mystical poets such as Rumi.

His music is a special combination between the old and the traditional, a fusion of Rumi's spiritual poems with modern and technical rhythms that invite to meditation. The fusion between spirituality and meditative rhythms, combined with traditional Persian instruments such as the santoor, have a hypnotic effect.

Medusa Odyssey is a concept of electronic live performance where this duo of musicians, producers and DJ ś play their own music, producing it live with synthesizers, electric guitar, flutes, vocals and drum machine.

Then this fusion of Bahramji and Medusa Odyssey creates really cool and ethnic atmospheres for a musical trip.

In Ibiza they have been playing in parties like Woomoon at Cova Santa, StoryTellers, Do not sit at Heart, Elements, Sunset Ashram, Namaste at Las Dalias, Beachouse, etc.

Also has participated in 2019 at Echo Waves festival in Georgia, Iris Beirut - Lebanon, Rich Mix in London and Cyprus in addition to traveling soon to Dubai to participate in Blue Marlin and Iris Dubai. 

Jana reflects the sound of the live performance of Bahramji & Medusa Odyssey in a first original track with the Themba´s, Goldcap's, Nhii's, Acado's and Taavi Tuisk's remixes.
