Oh Lord who provides Joy, takes away Sadness and removes all “vighnas” (obstacles) in life

Who spreads love everywhere as his blessing

Who has lovely “shendur utna”(yellow-orange fragrance paste) all over his body


Who has a necklace of “Mukataphal”(pearls in Sanskrit) around his neck

Hail the god, Hail the god, Hail the auspicious idol

All our wishes are fulfilled just by “darshan” (looking at the idol)

Offering you a seat studded with Ratna(jewels) for you “Gaurikumra” (son of Gauri)

Smearing you with Chandan(Sandalwood) utna(paste) and Kumkum(Red Tilak) on the head

Diamond studded crown suites you right

Whose anklets tingle in his feet

Lambodar Who wears a yellow cloth

Who has Straight trunk and is Vakratunda and Trinayana
“Vakratunda”one who breaks the ego of he who behaves anti-socially (‘Vakra’).
“Trinayana” the son of the 3 eyed (Lord Shiva)

I am waiting for you in my “Sadana” (home) just like the slave(used as devotee) of Lord Rama

raam raam japti huun sun lo mere ram aao
I keep repeating the name of the lord, hear it and come;

I chant your name, please listen, oh Lord!

baje satya ka dhaanka jale paap ki lanka
Let the truth ring out loud and the city of sin burn.

isi kshan tum aao mukt karaao
Come this very moment and liberate me;

sun bhi lo ab mori duhaayi
listen to my woes.

raam ko bhuulo yeh dekho raavan aaya hai
Forget Ram; look, Raavan has come,

phaili saari srishti par jiski chhaya hai
whose image is found in all creation!

kyon japti ho raam raam tum
Why do you chant the name of Ram?

kyon leti ho raam naam tum
Why do you take His name?

raam raam ka ratan jo yeh tumne hai lagaaya
this repetition of Ram's name that you've started --

sita sita tumne raam mein aisa kya gun paaya
Sita, what have you found so worthy in Ram?

gin paayega unke gun koi kya
How can one count His merits?

itne shabd hi kahaan hain
Where are there so many words?

pahunchega us shikar pe kaun bhala
Who can reach that peak

mere raam ji jahaan hain
where my Ram is?

jag mein sabse uttam hai maryaada purushottam hai
In the whole world He is the highest Being, the Supreme Spirit;

sabse shaktishaali hai phir bhi rakhte sayyam hai
he is stronger than all and yet very patient.

par unke sayyam ki ab aane ko hai sima
But His patience has reached its limit.

raavan samay hai maang le kshama
Raavan there's still time, ask forgiveness;

baje satya ka dhanka jale paap ki lanka
let the truth ring out loud and the city of sin burn!

aaye raaja raam karein ham pranaam
When King Ram arrives we will bow to him;

sang aaye lakshman jaisa bhai
with him will come his devoted brother Lakshman.

Every moment....

raam mein shakti agar hai
If Ram has strength,

raam mein saahas hai to
if Ram has courage,

kyon nahin aaye abhi tak woh...
why has he not come yet...

tumhaari raksha ko
to protect you?

jinka varnan karne mein
He whose descriptions

thakti nahin ho tum yahaan
you never tire of giving,

yeh bataao woh tumhaare raam hai is pal kahaan
tell me where your Ram is this very minute?

raam hriday mein hai
Ram is in my heart;

mere raam hi dharkan mein hai
my Ram is in every hearbeat!

raam meri aatma mein raam hi jivan mein hai
Ram is in my soul, in my life itself

raam har pal mein hai mere raam hai har shwaas mein
Ram is in every moment of mine, in every breath

raam har aasha mein meri raam hi har aas mein
Ram is in every wish of mine, He is what I wish for.

raam hi to karuna mein hai shaanti mein raam hai
Ram is in compassion, and in peace,

raam hi hai ekta mein pragati mein raam hai
Ram is in harmony and in progress.

eaam bas bhakton nahin shatru ki bhi chintan mein hai
Ram is not only in a devotee but also in an enemy's mind.

dekh tajke paap raavan raam tere man mein hai
Forsake all sins Raavan, Ram is in your heart!

raam tere man mein hai raam mere man mein hai
Ram is in your heart, Ram is in my heart.

raam to ghar-ghar mein hai raam har aangan mein hai
Ram is in every house and every courtyard.

man se raavan jo nikaale ram uske man mein hai
One who removes Raavan from his heart will find Ram there.

raaja raamchandra aaye
