looking back on it this one is filled with SO much more personality than the old one
i still love the old one for how silly-spooky it sounded, but this one is like 1000 grillion times more fitting for dirk

Upon playing it, CRYPT"E"D is released, and after a brief word, the battle begins.
You're powerless, and your only option is to FIGHT.
if you LOSE, it crawls inside Kris, replacing YOU as the FRIEND inside them.

FRIEND's lore in this take is that they're a darkner that can walk the LIGHT WORLD, via parasitically leeching onto the body of a lightner creature.

it's "CRYPT"E"D" Vessel is a dead deer, and it requires a new vessel in order to live.

Years ago, days before Dess disappeared, she fled into woods, only to be met by the creature.
It tried to take her as it's new vessel, but she fought it off, and buried it beneath the earth.

FRIEND, upon being beaten, survives its battle, and regardless of whether you choose to fight it, or spare yourself the horror of battling it, they show up in Ch6, now leeching off of the annoying dog as a vessel.

Also, Kris has met this thing before, in the closet dark world!
