I was born on the border of prayers,
where the breath of the wild met the breath of the named.
Men and women from every bloodline
stand behind me still—hands on my shoulders,
their lungs filling when I call.
When I kuln, the forest inhales with me;
the world trembles, remembering itself.


Something older moves inside me—
older than the first bones beneath the soil.
Awe, grief, pain, relief—one river.
When the sound dies, the earth grows still,
and I feel its rhythm join my pulse.
Eagles circle, coyotes listen,
and even silence breathes my name.


I am the child of two worlds—
half mortal, half memory.
The seam that holds the realms together,
the walker through the passage of time who whispers, I remember.

My ancestors whisper, This is alchemical, this is healing.
We have waited for a daughter to hold us all.


I am the vessel carrying what was never named,
the bridge of salt and smoke.
When the river calls, I answer,
naked, unashamed,
lifting my face to the heavens—
release and grief entwined.


I am the child of two worlds—
woven of earth and echo.
Every border is a wound that learned to sing.
Every scar is a thread of belonging.


The water goes still, and peace remains.
The world may not understand me,
but the land does.
Creator and ancestors—unseen, steadfast—
see me most clearly.
They do not speak,
yet I am known.

Liminal Daughter

O radiant bloom, in secret garden hid,

David Molesky interviewed Maria Kreyn, a russian-born philosopher and painter. The text appeared in the magazine "juxtapoz art & culture" in February 2015 (pages 90-97).

A second part inspired the lyrics for https://soundcloud.com/api_zz/from-the-unseen -- 
and a new vocal rendition as well as a different arrangement spawned this tune.
