Keex visits the Visionscast with a playful set, ranging from deep housy elements to funky piano lines. But attention: This one is a real groove machine! 
Starting the travel with more of a classic house selection, the set evolves to moments with acid leads and bass, never forgetting where it started though. This one would get every floor dancing, well, have a listen yourself and especially: have fun with set number 6 by Keex!

@keexdj is a co-founder of the DJ and arts collective @xcuseu that promotes FLINTA* artists and aims to integrate queer feminist perspectives in different aspects of club culture. Keex plays energising and cheerful sounds across the spectrum of house, and will dip into electro and breakbeat at Kiekebusch Lake.

This time, the talented @toni-pfad leads us into an hour-long prog house whirlwind, where reverberating arpeggios and bubbly basslines await you! We absolutely love this acidic bubble bath, packed with fresh jams and timeless gems.

Toni is a Berlin-based DJ and friend of ours. She is part of the Jena-based @biotobt collective and has yearlong experience in both organizing and playing parties. While her Rosa Brisante mix ideates around the sound we arguably embrace the most, her selections can usually be characterized as genre-fluid, oscillating between electro, jungle, progressive house, trance, and techno.

The first Nachti Pod of the 2023 festival comes from Victor. The skilled DJ played a set that felt like a 4-in-1. Starting with a special tribute to the Nachti story, slowly easing it in with the deeper sides of house before peaking into shuffling techno and finally putting a bass music cherry on top. Chapeau Victor! That set was arguably one of the most memorable moments of the last get together in Olganitz and now it’s finally online, for everyone to listen to it over and over and over again…

Lil old me played at Nachti this year (2023) & they gave me 3 hours at their ambient stage! 
This is by far the most personal set I've ever played and I have never been this nervous in preparation. For me playing ambient means opening myself and making myself vulnerable to the outside world because everything I like to listen to and get comfy to is wrapped up in a sequence that I hope makes sense to more people than myself. 
And yet - what freaks me out the most - this is probably the one set, everyone keeps chatting me up about. Thanks for seeing me and what I did here. You all seem to be as bazoinga in the brain as me <3 
I always wanted to dedicate something to someone in the www so here we go: This is dedicated to my younger self, the persian woman inside of me, the clown inside of me, my girlies (thx for sitting on that couch with me & joking your way through life with me), my boyfriend & everyone who feels something while listening to this. I appreciate you all.  Merci azizamis <3

Love letter from DJ Chichi 💌

today is a special day, Chichi brings us flowers and pralines. Everyone who’s heard her play will know what to expect: A variety of well chosen records, played in a fine mixture of vinyl and digital. Nothing less than an hour of deep diving into soundscapes and emotions. A connoisseur set - wrapped with love, with tracks by Dj Plead, Acidfinky, Miles Amillion, David Löhlein and others.
You can almost grasp the concentration seeing Chichi play, leaving a remarkable feeling of seriousness about the craft. That is also what she transports while talking. She feels deeply connected to the scene, being the reason why her and the xcuse:u events are demanding change without just opening another hedonistic space. Having organized the 8-to-the-floor-event at Alte Münze, hosting a show on Refuge Worlwide, having played at OXI, Mensch Meier and our beloved Kiek Beyond Festival, Chichi has become a crucial part of the scene.

In episode 12 of the Visionscast, DJ Chichi moves around through genres and moods, from groovy percussions and vocal samples over deep house to proggy and breaky sections, presenting her whole toolbox of electronic joy. This joy has also reached Visionskultur, which is why Chichi has not only played one of the legendary B2Bs with BBY G at Humboldthain Club for a Visionskultur Club Night or taken over the Nest floor at our festival, but has also evolved to being a very much appreciated and loved human being <3

Ali Wagner @ali_wagner is a multidisciplinary artist who contributed to our festival Kiek Beyond with her mad hatter’s tea party installation and general support during the the build-up. Based in London and hailing from Australia, Ali’s music selection offers a twist of soft, nostalgic sounds accompanied by her love for classic trance records. We are very excited to share this mix of hers. 

With the first part curated to inspire grounded reflections, it progressively moves you deeper with spacious groovers like Saoirse’s “Gentle Romance”. The second half features Ntel’s iconic acid trance track “Melt”, followed by some of her more old school records; leaving you with that euphoric sound she is seeking to bring to every dancefloor.

Solalex took his groovy Y2K tribal tech records and some new stuff out for us and they make a hot mix, which we love!

Digging early 90s progressive records and genre-curious excursions into all forms of groove, Solalex plays a sound inspired by the queer-futurist revolutionary spirit of underground raves. An advocate for the healing power of dance, Solalex blends cosmic, emotional, progressive trance with new age, world influence, organic instrumentation and percussion to cosmically align dancers with the stars and the earth. 

As a gemini and a bisexual man, he experiments with dualities by blurring the lines between genres to shine a light on #bivisibility in the scene and create space for all to dance freely.

US-born, Berlin-based Solalex co-hosts Starseeds with DJ Chichi, a party melding cosmic and earthly rhythms in queer friendly spaces in Berlin. On May 5th, Starseeds will host a Sunday afternoon party at Fitzroy in collaboration with London’s Fast & Bi-Furious collective, featuring Pjenné and Hanaby along with the residents of each collective.

VisionsCast 021 with Vilma

With love from @scheissmukke member juan and only: This mix explores the potent force of percussive elements across various genres. Tribal components resonate with my Latin heritage, evoking a primal trance state that I find deeply therapeutic. I'm captivated by the romance between Techno and organic sounds, bridging the 'music of the future' with our primitive musical origins, back when humanity gathered around fires in caves, using sticks and stones to create rhythms for celebratory dances (which is not so different to what we experience today in clubs, if you think about it). I would also like to acknowledge that we wouldn’t be able to enjoy this magical music if it weren’t for Black musicians; it’s important we remind ourselves that we owe Africa much more than we care to admit. I hope you enjoy listening to this mix as much as I enjoyed creating it.
