The texts exalt the far-reaching and all-pervading power of the Lord. In the Holy Book the only raga variant given is Bhopali (Bhupali).

ਅਨ ਕਾਏ ਰਾਤੜਿਆ ਵਾਟ ਦੁਹੇਲੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
ਹੇ ਤੁੱਛ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਵਿਚ ਰੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਨੁੱਖ! (ਇਸ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ) ਤੇਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ-ਪੰਧ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਦਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । 
Why are you imbued with the love of another? That path is very dangerous.

ਪਾਪ ਕਮਾਵਦਿਆ ਤੇਰਾ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਬੇਲੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
ਹੇ ਪਾਪ ਕਮਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਤੇਰਾ (ਸਦਾ ਦਾ) ਸਾਥੀ ਨਹੀਂ । 
O sinner, no one is your friend.

ਕੋਏ ਨ ਬੇਲੀ ਹੋਇ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਦਾ ਪਛੋਤਾਵਹੇ ॥
(ਕੀਤੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਭਾਈਵਾਲ ਬਣਨ ਲਈ) ਤੇਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਸਾਥੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣੇਗਾ, ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਮਲਦਾ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਏਂਗਾ । 
No one shall be your friend, and you shall forever regret your actions.

ਗੁਨ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਨ ਜਪਹਿ ਰਸਨਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਕਦਹੁ ਸੇ ਦਿਹ ਆਵਹੇ ॥
ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਪਦਾ, ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੇ ਇਹ ਦਿਨ ਫਿਰ ਕਦੇ ਵਾਪਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਣਗੇ (ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਰੁੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਪੱਤਰ (ਮੁੜ ਰੁੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਨਹੀਂ ਜੁੜ ਸਕਦੇ । 
You have not chanted with your tongue the Praises of the Sustainer of the World; when will these days come again?

ਤਰਵਰ ਵਿਛੁੰਨੇ ਨਹ ਪਾਤ ਜੁੜਤੇ ਜਮ ਮਗਿ ਗਉਨੁ ਇਕੇਲੀ ॥
(ਕੀਤੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ) ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਕੱਲੀ ਹੀ ਤੁਰੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ । 
The leaf, separated from the branch, shall not be joined with it again; all alone, it falls on its way to death.

ਬਿਨਵੰਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਫਿਰਤ ਦੁਹੇਲੀ ॥੧॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ—ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਸਦਾ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਘਿਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਭਟਕਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ।੧।
Prays Nanak, without the Lord's Name, the soul wanders, forever suffering. ||1||

ਨਾਰਦ ਸੇ ਸੁਕ ਸਾਰਦ ਸੇ ਜਿਨ ਕੇ ਜਸ ਕੋ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਫੁਨਿ ਹਾਰੇ।।
ਸੇਖ ਸਹੰਸ੍ਰ ਧਰੇ ਮੁਖ ਯਾਹੀਂ ਤੇ ਬੀਤ ਗਏ ਜੁਗ ਪਾਰ ਨ ਪਾਰੇ।।

ਇਸ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦਾ ਮੁਖ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਭਾਉ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹਰ ਸਮੇ ਹਾਜਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਗੋਪੀਆਂ (ਨਿਕਟਵਰਤੀ ਸੇਵਾਦਾਰਨੀਆਂ) ਜਿਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਰਾਧਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਅੰਤਰ ਗਿਆਨ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਉਹ ਗੋਪੀਆਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੋਰ ਸਖੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਓ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਜੀ ਹੁਣ ਸਾਡੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਸਮਾ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਜੋ ਸਰੀਰਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਵੀ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਹੀ ਹਨ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹਨ।
ਹੁਣ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਰ ਨੂੰ ਰੀਝਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਜਲ ਪਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀ ਰਹੀ, ਸਾਡੇ ਨੇਤਰ ਉਹਨਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਜਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਗੈਰ ਹੀ ਕਜਰਾਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਪਏ ਹਨ।

ਇਹੀ ਸਿਧਾਂਤ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਿਖਾਂਉਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਵ ਰੂਪ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਸਨਬੰਧੁ ਬਾਰੇ
