Afterlife & Diynamic mainstay and one of 2021’s most exciting artists, Innellea, delivers a truly monumental remix of fellow German electronic producer Parra for Cuva and his latest single 'Her Entrance', taken from his forthcoming Juno LP, set for July this year.

Parra for Cuva’s new album Juno contains sounds from around the world yet it was almost entirely produced within the four walls of the artist’s studio in Berlin. That’s the beauty of the 21st century though, one barely has to leave a room to travel far and wide and be inspired by distant places and peoples. Juno takes this global exploration even further with the influence of seven musicians and their different instruments.

As expected, Innellea serves up exciting, forwarding thinking sonics; working the rising melody lines and Indian flute samples of the original around fizzling electronic-edged beats and a pulsating driven atmosphere of power that he brings to all his productions!

Innellea dims the warmth by adding hardcore techno and accelerated beats to the single. "My interpretation of "Her Entrance" was shaped by the desire for extensive and intense club nights. Therefore I decided to adapt the mysterious mood of the original track and to add dynamic hi-hats and driving basslines to create a dancefloor-oriented interpretation," says the producer.

As the spring soars into supreme summer, we’re thrilled to welcome Eduardo McGregor back to TOR for his second EP on the imprint. The Mexican maestro has graced the likes of All Day I Dream, Sudbeat, TRYBESof, Tale & Tone and Kindisch, showcasing a knack for global grooves, percussive rhythms, and rich melodies. He’s a unique talent within dance music - a multi instrumentalist, composer, and educator. McGregor’s true musicianship brings distinct quality to his productions, as we witnessed via his ‘I Fall EP’ which debuted on TOR last year. Continuing explorations into original organic territories, McGregor floats even higher with the Tal Vez Soñar.

The A-side opens with rotating rhythms and deep ambiance, shifting effortlessly through melodic moods. The groove is ever-present through the opening frames, ensuring listeners are entrenched in the foundation of dance before Tal Vez Soñar’s signature vocal performance arrives. Elongated chords & strings enchant the senses throughout this enigmatic and effervescent effort from Eduardo.

Nothing In The Dark harnesses psychedelic tones and swirling soundscapes, playing with the mind while providing crisp kicks to please the senses. Haunting & rich synthetics ebb & flow, as a break in groove offer devious dancefloor moments. An ominously opulent production from Eduardo, and one sure to find the bag of global selectors.

A new talent adding his name to the Stil vor Talent history book and one bound to conquer even vaster crowds and territories in the coming months, Spanish up-and-comer Gespona lands his debut EP for us, "Kune". Comprising four expressions of his straight out addictive floor blends, hybridising the throbbing heat of bass-charged earworms and rhythms, Gespona delivers a strikingly mature maiden effort that makes the rounds betwixt epic-sized momentums and jam-packed club intimacy. 

Lighting up the path, the exhilarating "Akiris" (feat. NonReal) sets the tone with a magmatic fusion of rugged EBM jack, stealth subterranean vibes and callously sensual arpeggios on a mission, primed for whipping up a frenzy across all of the club's rooms. The further syncopated "Okazi" (feat. Amadori) deftly shifts through hi-intensity martial marching, back again in the now to better feel the fast-transporting nature of Gespona's sound. 

Title-track "Kune" goes for a more furtive approach, starting off like this season's umpteenth sub-bassy tech-house pumper, then rapidly morphing into an iron-and-steel body-jacker a la Woolford. All in distortions and FX-loaded wizardry, this is music to basically lose your sh*t to. Positively so. A team effort with Agustin Giri, "Rektaj" rounds off the parade with power and rage, deploying its menacing wings like a bloodthirsty vigilante in search for its next criminal prey. The result is a synth-splashed, hard-hitting churner designed to pace the streets of Gotham at fierce, breakneck rate.

The undeniable flagship of Renaissance Records, a ReMix Collection is always an event when it lands; so, as festival season begins, and we turn the corner into summer, what musical news could be better?

And it really is news. In keeping with the ReMix Collection ethos of inviting the biggest and best to rework undeniable Renaissance classics, which to date has included Solomun, Tale Of Us, Adam Beyer, Nicole Moudaber, Maceo Plex, Patrice Bäumel and Yotto, the label were delighted to secure the services of Gorgon City to provide their take on one of the earliest, most immediate classics - Mephisto’s State Of Mind.

Released in 1992, ’State Of Mind (Quiet Mix)’ was a standout during Renaissance’s formative years at their legendary Venue 44 home in Mansfield. Its classic status was further compounded 18 months later when Sasha and John Digweed included it on the ‘Mix Collection Vol.1’ and introduced it to the ears of the wider world. It was, and is, an Italian house classic, which stands out through its deft piano riff, wobbly female vox and THAT spoken word - ‘music with more muscles’.

Gorgon City’s Renaissance Remix wastes no time with its update. Continuing the style and sound Kye and Matt established with their ‘Somebody to Love’ and ‘Ahora Todo Va’ remixes, the track is a deep, peak time monster that injects bass, an unforgettable acid mid and deep horns to dramatic effect. “We’ve been fans of the ReMix Collection so didn’t hesitate to take ‘State Of Mind’”, they confirm, “the signature parts of the track are legendary. We had real fun knitting them into a tougher, contemporary sound.”

Was war nur passiert? Zwischen den letzten Tanzschritten im Club und dem Erwachen im Bett fehlen einige Sequenzen des frühen Morgens. Ich fühlte mich, als hätte mich das MIB „Geblitzdingst“. So sehr ich mich auch konzentrierte, die einzelnen Puzzleteile ließen sich nicht zu einer erhellenden Erinnerung zusammensetzen. Mein Verstand wehrte sich vehement mir die Wahrheit über die verlorenen Stunden preiszugeben. Als wäre eine Barriere direkt in mein Hirn gepflanzt wurden. All die erzwungenen Gedanken führten zu stechenden Kopfschmerz. Ich ließ mich zurück ins Bett fallen und versuchte mich vom Wunsch der Rekonstruktion zu befreien.
In diesem Moment realisierte ich wieder die rote Kapsel an meinem Arm. Ich bin mir sicher, dass ich sie vor dem Betreten des Clubs abgeben musste. Der Türsteher bestand darauf und faselte etwas von Gefahr durch unkontrollierte Hitzeentwicklung. Wie kann es sein, dass sich die Kapsel nun wieder an meinem Arm befindet. War ich vielleicht nach dem Clubbesuch noch auf einem ComRa Eevent? Habe ich dort die verlorenen Stunden verbracht? Realistisch betrachtet wäre dies eher nicht möglich gewesen. Ich hatte nicht mehr genug Geld bei mir, um mir den Eintritt zu diesem überteuerten Event leisten zu können. Zudem schaute ich das letzte Mal gegen 5 Uhr auf mein Handy. ComRa Veranstaltungen laufen normalerweise nur bis 6 Uhr. Was war also passiert?
