Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to how far you’ve come. It’s time for you to give credit where credit is due. And yes, that even includes to you. Stop being so hard on yourself. Do you feel like you haven’t accomplished enough? Thought you would have the dream house and the dream car by now? Or is it losing 25lbs, instead of 35lbs? Whatever it is, take time to open your eyes, mind and heart to see how far you’ve really come.

There’s an infamous quote that states, “inch by inch life’s a cinch, yard by yard life is hard.” Translation: take life step-by-step and day-by-day. Stop looking so far ahead, because you’re going to exhaust and discourage yourself.  Echo the sentiments English soul singer Jess Glynne in her hit single, “Ain’t Got Far To Go,” that with “patience lost, I began to lose me. My advice would be take a breath, close your eyes and take a step” and recognize which season of your life you are in.

You may be in the sowing season of your life where patience is key. Working tirelessly for the desires of your heart. You may only see a few sprouts, but the magic is still happening underneath/inside of you. You must always remember to say to yourself, “I spent forever waiting and it's no longer a dream, and now I've landed on my feet, and I ain't got far to go!”

Vitamin D - You "Ain't Got Far To Go"

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to the joy inside of you. Do not allow anyone or anything to steal your joy. If you live long enough, heck even if for a short while, you’ll realize that life throws a few curve balls. Some that may knock the wind out of you, and others that will have tears flowing down your face like the falls of Niagara. But by no means should you give those trials and tribulations the power to steal your joy. Stare at them front and center and shout, “You’re not breaking me!”

Things break. Whether it is a piece of jewelry, a dish, a car or anything else that isn’t a living being breaks. You are not a thing. You are alive. You are special. You are love and are loved. You have the ability to create and maintain the joy that is inside of you, so smile. Just like Tori Kelly belts in her thought provoking track, “Unbreakable Smile,” being happy is a choice “it’s all about what you choose. The way you live your life depends on you.” So what say you? Just like you, I’ve stood in the midst of a few storms but “I smile because happiness is all I have.” 

There is a blessing in every lesson. Count it all joy!

Vitamin D - You're Not Breaking Me

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to possibility. Life is filled with possibilities, but not enough people are willing to seize them. Why is that? We were all born with innate abilities, often coined as gifts. However, there are only a select few that are willing to wake up and grab them. Understand that you cannot find what you do not seek. Nor can you achieve what you do not believe. 

It’s time for you to wake up to the greatness that resides inside of you. Your possibilities are endless, limitless and have your name written all over them. Stop sleeping on yourself. That voice of yours that gets you constant compliments…a gift. The fun you have behind the lens of your camera capturing breathtaking photos…a gift. The fashion you create with a simple shirt and a pair of scissors…a gift. Wake up!

Your purpose awaits you. Happiness awaits you. Abundance awaits you. What are you waiting for? In Childish Gambino’s hit track, “Redbone,” it’s no secret that “if you want it, you can have it. If you need it, [you] can make it…but STAY WOKE!”

Vitamin D – Don’t Sleep On Yourself…Stay Woke!

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to the journey to our destiny. The journey to a life and lifestyle we aspire to live.  For some reason, we have this belief that the journey there is supposed to “look and feel a certain way.” Wake-up! The journey isn’t always “rainbows and butterflies.” No one said there wouldn’t be a mountain you wouldn’t have to climb, a cliff you didn’t have to jump off or a river you wouldn’t have to swim. 

There shouldn’t be any doubt in your mind on whether you can make it. From the moment you were born you were equipped with everything that you needed for this journey because the belief was placed on your heart. You want to know what it really is? It’s the fear of the destination, the fear of your greatness and the fear of your best life. Crazy right? If the destination is truly the prize to your greatest life there is no reason why you shouldn’t run like your life depends on it to get there. 

We’re all guilty of it. If we met in person or if you have been following me on social media for some time now, you would see that my weight has always been something I’ve had to deal with. Up and down, up and down. However, there was a time when my destination was a prize and nothing could stop me. I was living my best life in all areas because I decided to love me the right way, and it led me living the life I’ve always aspired to live. Stop making excuses. 

Life is a never-ending journey. Understand it will take discipline. When you truly make up your mind, it will happen. As my friend and actor, Lewis Powell would say, “the journey is the experience and the experience is the journey.”

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to procrastination, the procrastination exercised in the pursuit of our dreams. What do I mean by that? Well, I figure either we can chase our dreams or they can haunt us.  Haunt us with anxiety, depression, debt, stress etc. all of which are DIS-EASES in our lives. Especially for those who are aware of their dreams, can recognize their dreams and have simply chosen not to seize their dreams. How dare you?

How dare you not love the most important person in your life? You are worthy just like the next. You are smart enough. You are loved. You are wanted. You are talented enough. You have all the resources that you need. The only challenge is convincing yourself and running after it like your next breath of fresh air depends on it. Don’t worry your faith will keep you mentally in the game. 

See, your dreams were designed uniquely for you. You can’t escape them. Take heed from Hip Hop’s very own, The Fugees, knowing that you can either go after your dreams or they can come after you bellowing “ready or not, here I come, you can't hide, gonna find you and make you want me…”! Get Ready

Vitamin D – Ready Or Not Here Your Dreams Come!

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to shaking it off. Between you and me, how many times have you been awarded for majoring in the minor? I don’t know about you, but for me it’s more times than I can count. However, there comes a time when you just have to check yourself and say RE-LAX!

You must not concern yourself with matters that do not affect your bottom line. Whether it be people, situations and/or things. Heighten your awareness to know matters that are in your control, out of your control and that do not concern you. Know that people are going to say whatever they want about you and unforeseen circumstances are going to get thrown at you. So what, just shake it off!

The best part about life is that it doesn’t stop. It just keeps going. So go with it and know that everything is going to be alright. Know that everything that happens is for your greater good and that some things are just out of your control. Take note from the hit single “Shake It Off” by country/pop princess, Taylor Swift and say, “I'm dancing on my own, I make the moves up as I go and that's what they don't know…I’m just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake…shake it off.”

Vitamin D - Just Shake It Off

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to the breath in your lungs. It’s so easy to focus on all of the negative things in life. Whether it’s a failed relationship, a denied promotion, rejection from an audition or even a simple mistake. Just breathe. You can’t allow yourself to wallow in a sea of depression, anxiety, anger or regret. Everything happens for a reason. People change. Situations change. You even change.

If you allow life to knock the wind out of you, it will do just that. No one is exempt from its adversities. Just as Sia belts in her hit single, “Alive,” if you live long enough you too will declare, “I [have] made every single mistake that you could ever possibly make,” and still be breathing.

Don’t tell me that it’s too late because you’re still breathing. Don’t tell me it’s not possible because you’re still breathing. Enough is enough. The fact that you’re still breathing, indicates that you’re still alive! Go show & tell the world that “[you] knew what [you] wanted; [You] went in and got it. Did all the things that [they] said that [you] wouldn't” and let them know you will never be forgotten!

Living an abundant life is all about being limitless. There is no cap, glass ceiling and/or finish line when living life without limits. You can go as far as you are willing to take yourself. Abundance is the realm that exceeds the norm. It’s extraordinary. It’s filled with infinite possibilities, where the impossible becomes possible! Are you living an abundant life?

Take a minute to breathe. What does your life stand for? Fear? Insecurity? Monotony? Jealousy  ? Who am I kidding? Life can be scary, right? Regardless, you must fly above any sense of doubt that you may have. Just like country singers Maddie & Tae stated in their hit single, “Fly,” the only way to rise is to “keep on climbing, though the ground might shake. Just keep on reaching though the limb might break…’Cause you can learn to fly on the way down.”

Her next move of being featured on “MotorSport” with Migos and Cardi B is genius. Not because she isn’t hot, but because she understands the importance of attaching her name to what is hot. If you want to “be the best,” you have to “be with the best.” 

So apply this to your own life. If you’re aspiring to be a 10, what are you doing hanging out with 6’s? Each person in your life should be inspiration to you. It’s no secret why they say life is like the game of chess. You must make your next move, your best move.

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to the victories in our lives. Are you celebrating the victories in your life? Sometimes they are grand and sometimes they are small, but that doesn’t negate the fact that they all matter. Success is a journey, not a destination. 

A house isn’t built over night. It’s built brick by brick, so treat your dreams the same way. Understand that there are certain steps your must take in order to grant you the life you deserve. I need you to be patient. Be sure that you are well equipped for your blessings to reign down on you. In the hit song “Congratulations” Quavo raps, “I was patient . Uh, I was patient. Now I can scream that we made it. Now everywhere, everywhere I go, they say congratulations.” Post will even tell you, “I dreamed it all ever since I was young. They said I wouldn't be nothing. Now they always say, ‘Congratulations.’ Worked so hard, forgot how to vacation.” Get lost in your passion. Make every day feel like a vacation. With each step, each promotion, each pound released, each audition…learn to celebrate. Tell yourself “CONGRATUATIONS!”

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to expectations. Placing expectations on others is common, but that doesn’t make it right. We’re all guilty of it. Whether it is our partner, siblings, children, friends or even today’s celebrities. We become infatuated with the “idea” of someone, rather than seeing a person for who they are.

Detroit rapper Eminem dishes on expectations in his latest track “Walk On Water” featuring Beyonce and questions, “why are expectations so high?” Heck, why do they even exist? There is no way someone could ever live up to the mold you have shaped for them. How could they? You are not God.

I’ll be honest, I know my purpose on this earth is to spread love and light and to get people excited about their lives. But don’t get it twisted, I still get mad, sad, I curse and I yell. However, that makes me no less of the same person motivating and inspiring you. I am no different than anyone else. Think about that the next time some one “disappoints” you for not being who you expected them to be. Beyonce said it best, “I'm only human, just like you. I've been making my mistakes, oh if you only knew.”
