Welcome back MMD resident @shelo-underground, this local South African DJ and Producer is here to share some amazing underground with us in November.

ShelO has been in the music scene for years, there is little he has not achieved in the scene, from hosting floors at events for his record label Double Dutch Records, to DJ'ing at some of South Africas top clubs with some of the hottest internationals like Rich NxT, Løtte and so much more. He has also released on some of the best Minimal/Deep-Tech record labels around the world, holding top ten spots on Beatport for a while. 

BIO:

ShelO is a Deep Tech & Dub Minimal, Artist from South Africa
who started studying sound engineering at age (16) in the year 2011

He loves dark atmospheric grooves, and feels an artists job is to source music that the crowd has never been exposed to.

Hailing from Cape Town, South Africa, Dwson https://soundcloud.com/ashwin-julies  is starting to make major waves in his homeland as well as internationally.  As a producer, Dwson is responsible for some of the deepest, speaker shaking slo-mo house on one of SA’s leading imprints Stay True Sounds as well as Germany’s Get Physical and the impact of his track ‘Luna’ helped push him further into the limelight and onto the radar of Jimpster leading to the duo playing together at a Freerange event in Cape Town.As a DJ he is now in high demand domestically playing regular club and festival dates including Cape Town Electronic Music Festival and Redbull Music Festival in Johannesburg.

 Kicking off the release is ‘Bermuda’, a track which lures you in with it’s understated, simple minimal beats and warm bassline.  But don’t be fooled, this is a beast that grows into something far more powerful and dramatic as it patiently unfolds. Before we know it Dwson has unleashed a fizzing, subsonic lead line which builds through the drop bringing some serious drama to the party. ‘Isolation’ comes next, a classic slice of South African deep house if ever there was one.  Dwson is a master of this style and knows exactly how to maximise the impact of each element as it oozes like honey from the sound system.  

 Choosing a remix for this project was an easy one.  Listening to the originals we’re reminded of the early releases of Manuel Tur https://soundcloud.com/manueltur in the mid 00’s and thought it would be interesting to hear how he would flip a remix thirteen or so years on.  We’re happy to say Manuel has nailed it and created an epic, dubby workout which calls to mind early Wave Music with its rolling bassline, immersive pads and percussive groove.  The addition of a new vocal part adds icing on this already delicious and wholesome cake!

Auckland Resident Yiorgos is infatuated with deep, dark, melodic, minimal underground rhythms and driving bass-lines. 

Yiorgos's multicultural heritage (Greco, Afro & Egypto-Arabic) resonates in his track selection. Yiorgos draws inspiration from DJ's and producers such as 2lani the Warrior, Steve Bug, Deep Souls, Random Fact, Fulltone, Laminin Music, Krippsoulisc and Sanoi to name but a few.

Yiorgos is part of the elite crew of Dj's and producers of the Underground Kollektiv (UK) and founder of and resident DJ of Deep House Auckland.
