Felix aka Brandy Zardinelli begann 2019 mit dem Auflegen – damals noch auf diversen Hauspartys in Gießen, zwischen einem Chaos an gebrannten CDs, spritzigem Ingwer- Birne-Kombucha-Radler und einem Paar CDJ 200, zu denen bis heute eine unangefochtene Liebesbeziehung besteht, entstand seine Liebe für die Musik und das Produzieren von eigenen Tracks.
Die damalige Club- und Feierkultur wurde dem sensiblen Gemüt irgendwann etwas zu dunkel. Also entstand der Wunsch nach neuen Formaten – nach Räumen, in denen Musik, Bewegung und Gemeinschaft anders erlebt werden können. Nach mehreren Ecstatic Dance Auftritten und eigenen Veranstaltungen war klar, wohin die Reise geht.
In der Stadt mit der höchsten Bioladendichte angekommen, wurde kurzerhand das Ingwerregal geplündert – und mit neuen, fusionierten Partyinspirationen ging es weiter:
eine Neuauflage des Contigo Kollektivs, das ursprünglich in Gießen/Frankfurt beheimatet ist und dort regelmäßig Ecstatic Dance Events anbietet. Seitdem organisiert Brandy in Freiburg verschiedene Veranstaltungen, die Musik, Gemeinschaft und das Tanzen in den Vordergrund stellen. Seit Anfang dieses Jahres hostet er mit dem Contigo Kollektiv eine Podcastserie.
Musikalisch bewegt sich der ganze Spaß zwischen funkigem und groovigem Indie Dance, Disco, House, Melodic House und Afro House. Aber manchmal immer noch viel zu schnell – denn sind 109 BPM nicht vielleicht doch gesünder fürs Herz? Man will ja schließlich 100 werden.
Aus diesem Anlass hat Brandy für den Spulenigel Podcast einen herbstlich-groovigen Mix zusammengestellt, der den ganz charakteristischen Style trägt und die feine, verspulte Seite seiner selbst zeigt.

Ein gutes Quartal aufgebrüht habe ich es nun endlich geschafft: Mein Set vom Zugvögel Festival 2025 ist servierfertig.

Für mich schließt sich damit ein kleiner Kreis, der vor acht Jahren auf dem Zugvögel Süd begonnen hat, als ich zum ersten Mal in den Genuss dieser besonderen Zusammenkunft gekommen bin, die mich Jahr für Jahr als Besucher des Festivals geprägt hat. Ein riesiges Danke an die ZV-Crews der Gegenwart und Vergangenheit für das, was ihr jedes Mal abreißt 🔥

Dieses Jahr haben endlich die Kappas gepasst, sodass ich mich in der Sauna beteiligen konnte 🧖‍♂️ … und schon am Freitag bei Sonnenschein den Floor der Pangea-Crew oben bespielen durfte.

Ich war ziemlich aufgeregt, und gleich in der ersten Stunde gab’s ein paar technische Hänger plus einen Stromausfall. Trotzdem bin ich zufrieden, wie sich das Set letztlich in diesen Freitagnachmittag eingefügt hat:
Eingerahmt von einem möglichst bockmachenden Start- und einem abrundenden Endtrack folgen auf warm-uppigen, bouncigen Indiedance ein paar knalligere Tracks und gegen Ende schlusseinleitende und rausgleitende Parts ✨🌬

Here comes my set from Mira's 48 Katzen Tanzen auf'm Tisch. A huge thank you to Mira for being who she is, for inspiring my always and of course for inviting me to play mighty Säälchen on Sunday night. I could have not imagined a better moment to play the set I have poured all my soul, heart and creativity into. I feel so honoured to play among some of the greatest artists out there! 

Another huge thank you and my deepest respect goes out to all the incredible producers who are dedicating their time and energy into making these gems that I have selected for this set. 

A big thank you goes also to everyone being there and experiencing the magic that happened during these 3 hours full and bathing me after in all your love and joy ☺️ Since the recording unfortunately did not work out, I dared a re-record and beamed myself back into Säälchen and went through my memories one more time.

Melaune & Nümphe [ at ] GKS Synergies IV [ Live-Special ]

We met the extremely likeable Michi from the phillia collective at our joint party at Station Endloss. We were already familiar with his snotty dark disco style. Although we asked him for a podcast, he ended up coming up with a very special live recording that we simply couldn't refuse. Together with the enchanting Nümphe, the two created a mixture of bounce, dark disco with tech house elements and many deep moments in the slower BPM range. It's really fun and definitely not something you hear everywhere. And let's be honest. Slowly but surely, it's starting to bounce. It's time for new creations, and here we have a very tasty one. Thank you both.

✔️ What are your musical influences? What is your musical background? 
A:// At some point in 2024, the paths of MELAUNE and Nümphe crossed from two different collectives. Both share a love for bouncy-dirty beats and powerful basslines. MELAUNE most recently played indie dance and Nümphe is known for down-tempo and mid-tempo music. And together? A small explosion of groovy vibes and good humour, sprinkled with a dose of crashing drops. 

✔️ What do you think makes a good after-hours party? 
A:// In our opinion, after-hours is not a time of day, but a feeling. It's about letting go, the grin you can't wipe off your face, tired legs and yet an unbroken desire to dance. And music that moves you, but doesn't overwhelm you. 

✔️ What thoughts would you like to share with us about your mix? 
A:// Multiply Nümphe by Melaune and what do you get? Exactly: It's hits, hits, hits!
No, seriously: This mix was pure joy for us to play, and we feel that the synergy of our two musical backgrounds has created something completely new that has really infected us both. 

✔️ What was your experience of the set you recorded? 
A.// It was packed! And it was great. But it was precisely this mix that got us in the mood, and the dance floor seemed to really enjoy it too
