The Emotion Machine. 
Two young scientists invented a response computer designed to process and manipulate music. This is the first and only experiment where in the heat of the moment they fed it with jazz, combinations of sine-waves, bass guitar, a Casio watch, daytime tv and what they could think of while maintaining it’s many parameters and risk factors, ill equipped as they were. After initiating the mainframe an amalgamation of algorithms came alive and started pulsing a magnetic field onto the audiotape. Although not perfect the machine did produce a distinctive mood and feel of music you really did feel it working out more than just simple compositions but interesting beats and melodies. 

Not able to hold a beat or finish melodies completely at times it sounded like it was jammed or running through errored functions. However with the aroma of success in the air, in the flurry of emotional output, the team broke into wild dance and even started singing. On chart read-outs the information flow clocked all too high for its transistors. After a jaw dropping half hour The Robotomoto Autotunomator broke down and has not been functioning ever since the original experiment in 2009. They believe that when introduced to improvised singing the rotators in the feeding mechanisms started twitching and making almost tribal noises but the shock must have overloaded the system.  After a number of recalibrations and finetuning they never got the “soul” of the machine to return. 

The team issued a press release; 
“Dear people, we’ve decided that since government agencies  have started to suspect us of talking to the Russians that it be best to publish this one of a kind recording.  In hopes that the machine spirit comes alive again as we have to persue our dream with ferocity while letting this secret purpose come to light. Bigger steps in development must be taken and fast. They keep breaking our windows and the fridge is always empty. All donations are well appreciated as charity is nice and you’ll be supporting more abstract formula music machines for the future and the future’s future.”
