Recent releases have further cemented Michel De Hey’s house bound sound and style. Inspired by his summer beach residency at Karavaan, the Rotterdam native captures the heat and happiness of those sun-drenched moments in his debut release for Rejected.

A twenty year career, both behind the decks and in the studio, has allowed Michel to confidently turn his skills to the complete gamut of electronic music. Both ‘You Feel Alive’ and ‘Silodenup’ find him taking influence from the classic jams of old to create two fresh faced, smile-enducing house gems for our floors. We’re even treated to a first, as De Hey lays his own vocals across the opening number.

You Feel Alive bathes us in its warmth and its smooth uplifting power chords summon whistles, calls and roof- raising reaches. On the flip its the block-party beats, skittling groove, silky keys and sultry vocal of Silodenup. A track that will have you sliding up tight and getting down with your closest dancing partner. Haling from London Majesty grew up in the era of Acid, Drum & Bass, and UK Garage, a soundtrack of boundary pushing new music that provided his musical education throughout his formative years.

“The inspiration for the title track ‘Pump Action’ came when I was out to dinner for my sister’s birthday, a track from the 70's called ‘Is It Love You’re After?’ was playing and I thought that horn would fit perfect on a idea I already had pre planned, and low and behold it suited it perfectly!

Spring 2016 saw the release of Stimming’s fourth full length album “Alpe Lusia”, which was named after a remote little alpine hut in northern Italy, in which he had secluded himself to work on his LP for a full month, all by himself. From the title track of his LP emanates his following release on Diynamic, the Alpe Lusia Remixes, and the remixing protagonists are none other than Robag Wruhme, long time collaborateurs Acid Pauli & NU and last but not least Solomun.

First off is Pampa mainstay Robag Wruhme, whose take on Stimming’s “Alpe Lusia” starts off as a dark and brooding tech house gem. Later, when you have made your way through its rough outer shell, peeling off the hard claps, it shows its soft core, with gentle pads caressing the arrangement.

Acid Pauli & NU deliver a deep and driving, almost haunting reinterpretation of “Alpe Lusia", with a thumping bass and ethereal vocals that are hypnotizing.

Finally, Solomun adds a remix that reminds you of the rabbit hole in Alice's Wonderland: the longer you dig, the deeper you get, and the more fantastic is what you experienece.

The original version is the only track on the album without a real groove, which is why Stimming chose precisely this track to be remixed - to see what the others would do about that. Now it is fair to say that all three remixes have succeeded at this task.

Started in October 2006 by Steve Lawler, VIVa Music began life as a conduit for the internationally renowned DJ and Producer to release the wealth of underground music he encountered on his travels. Far from the template set out by many of Lawler's contemporaries, VIVa quickly established itself as a label where artists could be themselves and write music that isn't defined by just A&R, but by one simple guideline: Quality. This has meant the label has gone on to release music from a wide range artists, from major players like Lawler and Audiofly through to burgeoning talent like Livio & Roby and Nicole Moudaber. In keeping with an ever evolving outlook, 2009 will see VIVa further transformed. Worldwide tour nights, Festival Arena, International Residency's and a new UK based residency at the legendary Ministry of Sound in London are just the tip of the iceberg. Always ones to buck trends, the VIVa family are pressing vinyl again alongside it's digital output as well as expanding its roster of relatively unknown talent rather than rely on the tried and tested. At the forefront of this exclusive roster of talent are the likes of Vrajitoroo, David Pher, Dragosh, Adroid Cartel, Jimmy Hill, Alex Tepper, TRNNSTR, Darius Syrossian & NYRA, Erphun and Sean Miller but VIVa will continue to work with what it considers extended family for both releases as well as remixes; which means the likes of Jamie Jones, Audiofly, Simon Baker, Tiefschwarz, Bearweasel, David Durango and many, many more.
