This is a curation collated of unpretentious party jams made for the floor.

Hot Creations' Hot Summer Jams compilation returns for its second annual instalment, keeping the party toasty as we head into the winter months.

Comprised of 8 tracks from artists both new and old, Hot Summer Jams 2 offers up names such as DT favourite Cera Alba, Coyu, Neil Parkes, MANIK and Hot Creations head honcho, Jamie Jones.

Our Debut Transmission today however comes from Alexis Raphael. This London-based DJ/producer signed his first track to Hot Waves back in 2011, and since then has gone on to score for the likes of Moda Black, Leftroom and MadTech. Alexis returns to Hot Creations now with a slice of insanity-inducing, floor-filling house, that delivers more than just a friendly nod to The Prodigy.

Having recently played an eight hour set to a sold-out crowd at London’s Oval Space, the prolific Dusky drop a trio of moody club tool tracks on 17 Steps as they continue their European Autumn/Winter tour.  

A club tool in the most effective sense, lead track ’Lydia’ is dark, nagging acid groover that builds and builds throughout its 6 hypnotic minutes. With all the melodic material based around the Lydian scale, ‘Lydia’ was originally inspired by a bizarre, trippy dream Alfie had in which everything was all based on the Lydian scale.

A homage to classic techno, ‘Bitter Lake’ is a hard-hitting surge of looping, percussive energy and Detroit-nodding rave stabs that build to a hoover-fuelled breakdown release. 

Rounding off the trio, the brilliantly titled and uniquely composed ‘Infinite Libido’ again explores Dusky’s more percussive tendencies and has been a regular feature in their DJ sets for the past year.

Haling from London Majesty grew up in the era of Acid, Drum & Bass, and UK Garage, a soundtrack of boundary pushing new music that provided his musical education throughout his formative years.

Today Majesty stands as an ambassador for the resurgence of House & Techno producers emerging from England’s capital, and his early influences can clearly be heard in his deep, dubby take on four-to-the-floor music that he has released on highly regarded imprints including Nurvous, Madtech and Nite Grooves.

“The inspiration for the title track ‘Pump Action’ came when I was out to dinner for my sister’s birthday, a track from the 70's called ‘Is It Love You’re After?’ was playing and I thought that horn would fit perfect on a idea I already had pre planned, and low and behold it suited it perfectly!

Started in October 2006 by Steve Lawler, VIVa Music began life as a conduit for the internationally renowned DJ and Producer to release the wealth of underground music he encountered on his travels. Now, just a few years later VIVa is a self-contained hotbed for new talent which draws attention from DJs, punters and producers alike. Having previously handled the now-classic and traditional vinyl label Harlem Records, Lawler decided VIVa was to be a forward thinking outlet for quality music and boldly announced that VIVa was to be digital only. As well as a clear mission to look towards the future of the music industry, this was a step to ensure that music could be released quickly and retain the freshness that the labels A&R was struck by. Far from the template set out by many of Lawler's contemporaries, VIVa quickly established itself as a label where artists could be themselves and write music that isn't defined by just A&R, but by one simple guideline: Quality. This has meant the label has gone on to release music from a wide range artists, from major players like Lawler and Audiofly through to burgeoning talent like Livio & Roby and Nicole Moudaber. In keeping with an ever evolving outlook, 2009 will see VIVa further transformed. Worldwide tour nights, Festival Arena, International Residency's and a new UK based residency at the legendary Ministry of Sound in London are just the tip of the iceberg. At the forefront of this exclusive roster of talent are the likes of Vrajitoroo, David Pher, Dragosh, Adroid Cartel, Jimmy Hill, Alex Tepper, TRNNSTR, Darius Syrossian & NYRA, Erphun and Sean Miller but VIVa will continue to work with what it considers extended family for both releases as well as remixes; which means the likes of Jamie Jones, Audiofly, Simon Baker, Tiefschwarz, Bearweasel, David Durango and many, many more.
