The nakedly sublime dubby-tropical leitmotives are a tantalising listen, much more so than the tinny, vapid ish constipating the top 100! Vital!!

"Somnus" is the Roman god of sleep. A "protocol" implies a scientific, systematic procedure. So, the album is presented as an auditory log of a clinical experiment—a series of controlled ventures into the human subconscious. This clinical, detached framing creates a cool contrast with the deep, emotional, and often chaotic nature of dreams, which is perfect for the dub/deep techno sound.

German Techno OG Martin Landsky makes his debut on Rejected with two crucial jams that arrive in perfect time to complement and enhance our shared lockdown experiences. Deep, dubwise but heavy hitting, they're exactly what we need right now.
 
'Triage' takes the lead and sets the warm, stripped-back tone. Fitting the need for no-nonsense behaviour at this moment, Landsky instantly sucks us into the groove with zero unnecessary ear candy; just hot basses, swinging drums and a silky dubby synth hook weaving gracefully in and out hypnotically.
 
The same can be said for 'Dub Identity'. Maintaining the minimalism even further, with its firm focus on the drums, undulating low-end and spaced-out synth flurries, it completes another precision dispatch for Landsky and Rejected; both parties are known for getting right to the point, both have a knack for dropping the right sounds for the right seasons and both know that grooves will never grow old. Meaning they'll still sound super fresh the minute lockdown is lifted.

Italian natives Francesco Mami and SB-Unit get ready to release the ​Old Memory EP​ on Rebellion this July, delivering a delicate and mesmerizing four track journey.

Roll The Dice o​ pens the EP and sets the tone as the rolling bassline gets to work. Next up, ​Lost In The Toilette​ lays down a sub groove whilst leaving room for the chords and bass notes to gradually build throughout. ​Old Memory​ follows, providing an upfront and energetic cut, as a delayed melody builds towards revealing itself in full. ​Keep On​ rounds off the release with sonically pleasing atmospheric elements and returns to a more laid-back groove.

Francesco Mami​ grew up in Rimini where he held one of his earliest residences at Le Cocoricò Riccione and has since then earned respect as both a talented producer and DJ, playing across the world at the likes of DC10 and Burning Man. Formerly under the name of DOS, Francesco has released on labels like BPitch Control, Get Physical and Ibadan Records. His solo release on Rhythm Cult Records was the starting point for his new artistic concept, following his monthly DJ residency at Weetamix Geneva and La Macarena Club Barcelona.

SB-Unit​ is the up and coming project from Salvo Buonocore. Inspired by the electronic sound from both Naples and London and after years of musical and technical studies, he is now proud to release his latest works. In addition to producing and DJing, Salvo heads up his own label ​Polluted Records​ alongside co-founder Mick Piscitelli.

Started in October 2006 by Steve Lawler, VIVa Music began life as a conduit for the internationally renowned DJ and Producer to release the wealth of underground music he encountered on his travels. Now, just a few years later VIVa is a self-contained hotbed for new talent which draws attention from DJs, punters and producers alike. Having previously handled the now-classic and traditional vinyl label Harlem Records, Lawler decided VIVa was to be a forward thinking outlet for quality music and boldly announced that VIVa was to be digital only. As well as a clear mission to look towards the future of the music industry, this was a step to ensure that music could be released quickly and retain the freshness that the labels A&R was struck by. Far from the template set out by many of Lawler's contemporaries, VIVa quickly established itself as a label where artists could be themselves and write music that isn't defined by just A&R, but by one simple guideline: Quality. This has meant the label has gone on to release music from a wide range artists, from major players like Lawler and Audiofly through to burgeoning talent like Livio & Roby and Nicole Moudaber. In keeping with an ever evolving outlook, 2009 will see VIVa further transformed. Worldwide tour nights, Festival Arena, International Residency's and a new UK based residency at the legendary Ministry of Sound in London are just the tip of the iceberg. Always ones to buck trends, the VIVa family are pressing vinyl again alongside it's digital output as well as expanding its roster of relatively unknown talent rather than rely on the tried and tested. At the forefront of this exclusive roster of talent are the likes of Vrajitoroo, David Pher, Dragosh, Adroid Cartel, Jimmy Hill, Alex Tepper, TRNNSTR, Darius Syrossian & NYRA, Erphun and Sean Miller but VIVa will continue to work with what it considers extended family for both releases as well as remixes; which means the likes of Jamie Jones, Audiofly, Simon Baker, Tiefschwarz, Bearweasel, David Durango and many, many more.
