TwoSlice - Movin' & Groovin' [VIVa LiMITED]

'Italian born electronic music artist MATTHEW, born and raised in Napoli, made his debut on VIVa MUSiC with his 'Neapolitan EP' almost exactly 12 months ago to the day. Having first previously released on Rich NxT 'What NxT' label bringing attention to his sound, MATTHEW makes a welcome return to VIVa MUSiC with his ‘Excusa Esto EP’ released 30th September. This EP leads from the front we are excited to share with you this incredible three track EP.

The EP opens with ‘Neno Excusa Esto’. If dynamism is what you look for in music, this is the one for you. Packed full of infectious energy from its jackin’ beats to high intense high speed rap vocals and moments of early electroclash production influences coming through. This is an ambitious and perfectly executed 6 minute journey we might never come down from so join us in hitting the repeat button and living it all over again!

Continuing this journey of sound, ‘Forsambaa’ opens with deep kicks and rhythmic funk driven drums that take us all the way through the track. As infectious as opener, ‘Neno Excusa Esto’, ‘Forsambaa’ is driven by dirty beats and hypnotic drum patterns. Chanting vocals that loop throughout making this a track that delivers any time day or night, commanding attention at the day time parties all the way through until the early hours with the lights down and the sun coming up. It leaves us with one question…. There is one more track to go on this EP, where are we going next?!

To close out, ‘Toodley’. Once again, MATTHEW delivers drums that are front and center, paired with a contagious bassline making it impossible to stand still listening to this EP. Chanting vocals are once again looped and draw us in. We’re completely lost in the music hoping this is a journey that never ends and are left wanting more.

Sunday Noise - Un Poco Mas Duro [VIVa LiMITED]

'Sunday Noise makes his debut up on Steve Lawler’s VIVa LiMITED label with ‘Un Poco Mas Duro’ EP.

Sunday Noise, Rodrigo Carranza, is the 20 year old DJ/Producer born, raised and based in Peru. He is fast becoming a rising talent to watch out for within the electronic music scene in South America and beyond. 

An impressive run of releases to date on labels including La Pera Records, Muse, Nervous Records, Avotre and Glasgow Underground have pathed the way for his impressive debut release with VIVa. 

It’s not just the notable roster of labels that have been showcasing his music, further backing comes from an impressive who’s who of names lighting up dancefloors around the world. Marco Carola, The Martinez Brothers, Nic Fanciulli, Yaya, wAFF, Richy Ahmed, Michael Bibi, Jamie Jones have all shown support for the Peruvians productions.

Opener and title track ‘Un Poco Mas Duro’ is an all-out peak time rolling tech house assault on the sound system and on the dancefloor. Driving basslines paired with pumping percussion ensure this one is absolutely rocking from open to close.

Keeping the energy moving, ‘Everyman’ leads with tribal influenced percussion showing a deeper tech influence within Sundays sound. Male rap vocals lead with authority highlighting the producers ambition to cross genres and experiment to keep his style evolving and developing. 

Closing out the EP, tracks ‘Something That I Can’t Explain’ featuring Paul Trelles and ‘Ahora’ featuring David Ink, sees Sunday inviting two fellow Peruvians to the release showcasing that the Peruvian sound and scene is one to keep a close eye on with some real emerging talent coming through thick and fast.

The Merseyside based UK rising talent has been making a name for himself releasing on labels including Lost Audio, Clarisse Records, Sura Music with some of the biggest names in electronic music showing support for his sounds including Jamie Jones, Waff, Steve Lawler, Leftwing : Kody, Francisco Allendes, John Summit, Franky Rizardo, Stacey Pullen to name a few and we’re excited to welcome Copasetic to VIVa LiMITED with a killer 4 track EP.

EP Opener, ‘Err’Bodi’ takes us straight to the heart of the dancefloor with its bumping bassline and acid grooves making Copasetic’s intentions clear from the outset. This is an EP made for the floor.

Next on the musical journey, title track ‘Well Dread’ takes us on a groove driven expedition, where we’re resetting after the dancefloor assault that EP opener ‘Err’bodi’ gave us. Minimal grooves and reggae sound-system infused breakdowns lead by bumping minimalism becomes the order of the day followed by ‘Ruff’ which is another certified head bobber permeated with the purest of grooves.

Closing out the EP and bringing the energy up is ‘Babylon’. An absolute floorfiller in its own right has us moving and grooving from start to finish. It’s as big as EP close-outs tunes come.

Started in October 2006 by Steve Lawler, VIVa Music began life as a conduit for the internationally renowned DJ and Producer to release the wealth of underground music he encountered on his travels. Now, just a few years later VIVa is a self-contained hotbed for new talent which draws attention from DJs, punters and producers alike. Having previously handled the now-classic and traditional vinyl label Harlem Records, Lawler decided VIVa was to be a forward thinking outlet for quality music and boldly announced that VIVa was to be digital only. As well as a clear mission to look towards the future of the music industry, this was a step to ensure that music could be released quickly and retain the freshness that the labels A&R was struck by. Far from the template set out by many of Lawler's contemporaries, VIVa quickly established itself as a label where artists could be themselves and write music that isn't defined by just A&R, but by one simple guideline: Quality. This has meant the label has gone on to release music from a wide range artists, from major players like Lawler and Audiofly through to burgeoning talent like Livio & Roby and Nicole Moudaber. In keeping with an ever evolving outlook, 2009 will see VIVa further transformed. Worldwide tour nights, Festival Arena, International Residency's and a new UK based residency at the legendary Ministry of Sound in London are just the tip of the iceberg. Always ones to buck trends, the VIVa family are pressing vinyl again alongside it's digital output as well as expanding its roster of relatively unknown talent rather than rely on the tried and tested. At the forefront of this exclusive roster of talent are the likes of Vrajitoroo, David Pher, Dragosh, Adroid Cartel, Jimmy Hill, Alex Tepper, TRNNSTR, Darius Syrossian & NYRA, Erphun and Sean Miller but VIVa will continue to work with what it considers extended family for both releases as well as remixes; which means the likes of Jamie Jones, Audiofly, Simon Baker, Tiefschwarz, Bearweasel, David Durango and many, many more.
