"What We Do in the Shadows" is a mockumentary/comedy film directed and written by Jermaine Clement & Taika Waititi. This 2014 film earned quite the cult following with their tale of a group of vampires living together in a flat in Wellington, New Zealand. A documentary crew has been approved by the New Zealand "government" to follow these vampires around Wellington and document their lives and the hijinks that follow.

This season we see Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali take the lead as Detective Wayne Hays, a Vietnam War veteran who with his partner, Roland West (portrayed by Stephen Dorff)will try to solve the case of the Purcell Household in over 3 different time periods: 1980, 1990 & 2015.
