A producer, vinyl-only DJ, and label founder, @hectoroaks emerged from Madrid’s underground dance scene, later moving to Berlin to become one of the most sought-after selectors on the international club circuit. 

His mix for this month’s Carhartt WIP Radio show explores the edges and planes of unfiltered techno, with a selection of tracks taken from his labels OAKS and KAOS. As ever, the mix is accompanied by an interview, where Oaks discusses his early love of 80s synthpop, countryside raves in Madrid, and why he’s chosen vinyl as his medium. Berlin based DJ/producer Alignment returns to Etruria Beat this May to deliver ‘Interference’, accompanied by two commanding and powerful remixes from Luca Agnelli and Madrid’s Regal.
 
With releases to date on the likes of Involve Records, Voxnox and Etruria Beat, with his last release on the Italian label coming in the form of his ‘Gravity’ EP in 2016, Berlin’s Alignment ranks amongst the shortlist of names to keep an eye on when it comes to emerging producers within the techno sphere. 
For his return to Etruria, the Italian steps up to reveal two high-octane cuts whilst Etruria founder Luca Agnelli and Involve boss turn in impressive interpretations of the lead track. 
Opening the EP, title cut ‘Interference’ combines 90’s acid sounds with trance-tinged synths to reveal a production primed for the dancefloor, before handing over control to Luca Agnelli who introduces hypnotic and suspenseful builds and breaks to proceedings, whilst switching up the track’s lead lines to create a warping journey. 
Next up, Regal who raises the energy even further and reinforces the original’s acid patterns with his own trademark sonics before ‘Turn Off’ concludes the package as hypnotic synth melodies merge alongside powerful driving rhythms throughout.

@vtss is as fierce and direct as they come in the DJ booth. She came up in Poland's most edgy clubs and since moving to Berlin has been an unstoppable force who has made her always ravey mark on the wider European scene. She's collaborated with Randomer as Body Sushi and with Varg as VARGTSS, and always offers a thrilling barrage of hardcore, EBM and caustic techno from across the ages.

It seems fitting that VTSS takes care of the last podcast of the year because she imbues it with the same pent up tension, confusion and unknowing that has defined the last 12 months. Her selections confront you head on and never let up whether reaching for strobe lit rave, hype speed techno or warped broken beats. Controlled chaos is the best way to describe it, so strap in and prepare to cut loose.
