A silent call from the past. It is calling for me.

I've been missing this sound. It is weird, because I have never thought I stopped hearing this. Times have changed. Without fully realizing it, I have strayed away from it. Disregarded what used to be as too simple. Discovered new sounds that pulled me in, distracting me further from appreciating where I came from. I got pulled in many directions. Yet suddenly, once I finished work on "I Need You," an obviously old Simon Patterson style inspired piece, it became a full circle, I am back to this.

I learned to appreciate Trance music by listening to it on my MP3 player when I was sitting in the back of my parents' car. The emotions this music provoked inside of me were far different from the feelings I have for Trance music these days. Somehow, maybe it was to me being younger, the music had a captivating effect on me, literally pulled me into another world, an escape from real life. I have worked towards the goal of creating such music myself. But recently, my music has turned into things that do not evoke these exact feelings anymore. Expectations were set on this sound. I became conflicted about continuing to produce music like this. I wanted to go back to it.

And so, it is time to find back to my roots and dig in my own crate of memories. A look back. I tried to get into the mindset of old me to create this, a piece of music that Icedream back from before 2014 would have aimed to make, with just a twist of recent influences and nostalgic hints. Purely uplifting, lots of piano and melodic playarounds.

It may or may not be the last of my attempts on coming back to this style. But it hopefully will help me lay down some doubts. Who knows... maybe I just need to rewind sometimes, to know where I came from, so that I can move on with things in the future. Different things, that may no longer stay within the boundaries of the old self that is "Icedream."
