Premiere of Wasteland (Polanski A-Version) taken from Torgue - Paradox Engine EP coming out soon on Trialz Records

Torgue smashes his way onto Trialz with 3 original dance floor crushers, that delivers in a signature Trialz vibe. Then we continue our voyage into the unknown with two very different remixes.  Today’s premiere is from London-based DJ and events curator Polanski. It is the DJ practice that influences Polanski’s remixing technique. Occasionally messy and disjointed, he sees his remix as a journey, where often you’ll find yourself entering through one gate of a sonic world but leaving it in another dimension. Never bound to one musical style, whether as DJ or remixer he tries to bridge the gap between the groovy and more experimental styles of dance music.

After remixing Ireen Amnes on Instruments of Discipline, Polanski continues with his A-Version concept. The concept borrows idea from the disco ‘version’. When some of the first 12” singles were pressed in the early days of club music (New York) they often included B-side remix from a local, well known club resident DJ. Some of them simply layered drum machine loops over elements of the original. With time, as the concept became more popular, those versions had often turned into epic 12-minute long, standalone compositions. 

For Polanski year 2020 marks twenty years “at the controls of the dance floor”. Never bound to one musical style, whether as DJ, remixer or solo producer, Polanski tries to bridge the gap between the groovy and more experimental styles of dance music.

The talented duo hailing originally from Italy yet currently based out of London, Tapefeed. They are the resident DJs of Superstition at Village Underground in London and Co-owners of the Tales Collective label. 

Recently their return on Metempsychosis Records with a controversial EP which includes two powerful remixes by Answer Code Request and Killawatt.  Taking inspiration from a famous quote of Eldridge Cleaver (writer and political activist) “They use force to make you do what the deciders have decided you must do” which was also repeated many times from Rage Against The Machine's frontman Zack De La Rocha before the start of their live performances, the EP's raw and industrial sound is an invite to raise awareness to a time of worldwide disconnection and conflict.

The founder of Synthapise, a non-profit event for animals' rights, recently became part of the MOTZ collective. Cathédral is a London based Dj and producer, co-founder of MASS event series which promotes local industrial techno artists while giving a third of the proceeds of each night to the mental health charity Mind.

After sharing the decks with artists such as Killawatt or Joefarr, Cathédral is pushing his sound into faster and harder sonorities, mixing relentless kicks and rave influences for a result raw and heavily danceable. On 1st June he is launching his label LABURNŪM Records with a Compilation called 'Marches' uniting 25 emerging artists from the local and international scene.

The mix settles at a slower BPM and explores EBM and industrial influences with tracks from artists such as Vittorio Di Mango, ILLNURSE and Body Beat Ritual.

The 90 minute mix meanders through deep, heady and hypnotic techno, bubbling up to a wave of peak-time Berlin-dancefloor weapons. Cukier’s mix features new tracks from the likes of Claudio PRC, Ryan Elliott, Aiken, Mark Broom, David Löhlein, Kr!z, Troy and more. Codeword will resume its event series at FOLD post-lockdown.

Born in Sofia but currently residing in London, SLLAV describes himself as a serious music enthusiast with an affiliation towards the more dynamic side of techno. Heavily influenced by classic rock and the electronic sound from the early to mid-2000s, his approach is a combination of galloping bottom-end and thundering percussion backed up by those necessary melodic moments. In the last couple of years, he gained valuable experience playing at clubs such as Fabrica 126 in Sofia, Corsica Studios and E1 in London and Griessmuehle in Berlin. Having started his DJ journey with @KODEN, a Birmingham-based crew, he is now a regular face at the infamous @Jaded after-hours. Some of the more notable acts that he has had the chance to support include Dax J, VSK, Scalameriya, Stephanie Sykes, Airod and more. He recently released via @Khazad Records and is now focusing on enhancing his production skills to deliver the sound he envisages.
