DB1 is an artist coming from UK, London. He makes music that is hard to describe. For me, it's an IDM with drum and bass and techno. His mix is a wonderful trip to the bright future. We know that this mix in few years still will be so fresh.

Sommermix

Modular synth impro liveset along some other boxes.
Melodic parts are all made from behringer td-3 midi output via holding notes with mutable instruments grids on equidelian mode and ornaments & crime module. 

Drums are Roland tr-606 and Elektron digitakt with custom library of pinged bandpass filter and Syncussion sy-1 clone samples. 

Been thinking about releasing a sample pack from these as they really turned out pretty nice. Especially the pinged bits. 




Live at Tapuliklubi 2021

Shanghai-based producer and DJ Laughing Ears became known to us through her 'Metamorphosis' EP on the inimitable Chinabot, an imprint showcasing some of the most exciting Asian artists operating in the experimental electronic sphere.

She's carved out her own sonic niche, which sees her chopping and screwing footwork and dubstep-inspired beats with haunting atmospheres and layers of synthesis. Since then she's also landed on the likes of Infinite Machine for her debut LP 'Blood' before being snapped up by Untold's Hemlock Recordings for her latest EP, 'Losing Track': another deep dive into broken rhythms, bass experiments and eerie atmospheres.

Off the back of the release, we asked her to deliver a mix which gives you an introduction to the sounds that form the backbone of her DJ sets and her own productions.
