Presenting you my new “Open Source” project, a string of 12 releases over the course of the next 12 months. Every first Friday of the month will be marked with 1 or more songs in a release that is different than usual. With Open Source I am granting you the rights to use my music in any way possible, therefore I am not only releasing a single mp3-file but the Stems, Midi Files and Synth-Presets too. 

When I create music I am often thinking of the live-performance situation already, it’s me who decides where, when and how I am sharing my music with you. Until the release-date of any of my music it always has been my “property” up to that point so to speak. But even after buying the file the user is still not able to fully get creative with the music because it’s protected by copyright control and other creativity limiting factors. 

I am going to change that. 

With these Open Source releases I want to grant you ownership of all aspects of the songs, and it is up to you to decide how you want to use it in your most creative way.

I hope you perceive this message as an open invitation to remix me, sample my sounds or add your touch to these 20 stems. If you create anything with it feel free to hit me up via dm or email and share your ideas and concepts with me. I might eventually end up releasing a few remixes too, so let’s see where this takes us together!

We are thrilled to announce the next instalment of the HARDPROOF VA series featuring Kabay, VNTM, Sol Ortega, Serge André, Danny Wabbit and KUSS. Then we transition to "Tactile," a lush and alluring track that’s just perfect for those peak moments, featuring deep, resonant bass that brings a charming wave of nostalgia. Next up is "Voices In My Head," where a delightful playfulness between sound and intention creates an intriguing atmosphere. It’s raw yet intriguingly clever! In the other 3 tracks I’m discovering and experimenting on the darker sides to my music and the goal is for the listener to try them at different tempos, to see how the grooves and textures behave.”

“After more than a year of repeatedly teasing an ID that was later called Dark Knight, VNTM is
now set to release an EP to complete his outstanding 2019 including the track that made so
many heads turn.

After the track first made its appearance more than a year ago in almost every set of the young
Dutchman, it later became a steady anthem in the sets of many renowned artists.
Especially the Italian duo Tale Of Us were taking the record to a next level during performances
on Afterlife, Tomorrowland, Awakenings and many more arenas around the world.

“Dark Knight” incorporates a combination of musical elements that are key to VNTM’s signature
sound; dark techno kicks and atmospheric elements which form the perfect foundation for the
chords and harmonies added. The repeating melody is what strikes most in this record, evolving
into a melancholic and dramatic silence, followed by a heavy impact snare roll to get the energy
going on peak level. A true anthem and a perfect closing track for his sets and cherished by
many others.

To complete the EP, VNTM picked another track that has been high on demand, premiered by
Tale Of Us at Printworks in 2018: “Demons”. Demons is based upon a dark rolling bass line that makes big rooms move, the later introduced brass sounds feel like they belong to the soundtrack of an ‘apocalypse. This is the perfect B-side that shows a darker side of VNTM’s work yet remaining the melodic touch you would expect.

After gigs like Awakenings, Straf_werk, Afterlife Tomorrowland and Printworks to name a few,
VNTM felt it was time to unleash the record that he used as a closing track to lift crowds to an
ultimate feeling of arousal and ecstasy and to thank every single listener who took part of his
journey that is set out to become even stronger in 2020.”

When reality stands in the way of creativity...feeling like you can’t do what you want and mentally block yourself, finally becoming your own worst enemy. Mindscape EP is a musical expression from dutch techno artist VNTM, going through the paces of these uncertain and distopian times. The title track of the EP, ‘Mindscape’, sets in with dark chords, dissonant elements taking over disturbingly and blocking the road ahead, though not able to hold back from beliefs, yet energizing them. ‘Omniverse’ is an outburst of vibes sending out energy and hope for better times ahead, where ‘Personification’ is more of a reflecting track where the mind tries to come at ease.

Here’s to another magical release from melodic techno producer and live act, VNTM; ‘Mystic E.P.’ on Apparation.
VNTM tries to step ahead into the future with optimism and a sense of enlightenment. The title track ‘Mystic’, infuses a sense of nostalgia due to the big amount of peaktime plays in his sets and hopefully brings back those magic climaxes we all have experienced together in the clubs.

The second track ‘Fractual’ tunes into the new, the yet to be discovered and the hypnotic side while remaining a rather serious tone of voice. It’s an introspective piece of music that has many different layers telling different stories, from the repeating main hook that induces a lot of energy to the deeper melodic ambiances and details that can be found throughout the record.

Shifting focus from the ‘could haves and would haves’ of the past year, going from a rushed life of amazing patterns every day, to an ever increasingly small world at the moment, forces everyone to reflect and think about all of our experiences in these rough times.

VNTM is an Amsterdam based live act and musician that has been playing his take on techno at numerous big festivals around the globe, appearing with his machines and only playing out his own material.

His infamous Mindscape nights currently residing at one of Amsterdam’s most vibrant clubs Lofi have seen him invite a multitude of international superstars such as Len Faki, Kangding Ray, Sterac, Ame, Recondite, Polygonia, Luigi Tozzi, Vril and many more. 

Some recent key-shows include his debut on the Awakenings Festival Mainstage, an all-night-long liveset at Lofi Amsterdam, Tomorrowland Afterlife.
