March (Hollywood Picture Book Mix feat. Calendar Girl)

This is a somewhat messy and overlong mix that weaves Lisa’s and SackJo’s vox into what I think of as a non-linear story. I like the interplay of the sentiments from Lisa’s and SackJo’s lyrics. The instrumental parts are from bouts of experimentation that I use to cure writer’s block; this time: used electric guitar found at a sale; generative Max for Live plugins; peculiar pedal bought on ebay; chord changes copped from songwriter workbooks; and so on. Hope you enjoy.

Submission for Splice's Terra Naomi - Nothing To Hide remix contest. Completely love these vocals. After experimenting with, and capturing various vox fx treatments and instrument recordings, the arrangement came together in this somewhat alterna trip hoppy electronica mix.

Terra Naomi - Nothing To Hide (Vo1k1 Remix)

This mix evolved while iterating on a set of chord progressions, and listening to and editing jacindae’s “Until You Are Home Again” and MissJudged’s “The World Ends”. From a production perspective, there is usage of the vocal material throughout (chops, some bass and melodic timbres, etc.). Thematically, I wanted to evoke an anticipatory dystopic remorse of lost peace and beauty.

Featuring Amelia June’s vocals from Trifonic’s “Broken”. The track motivation started with a number of rhythmic and chord change components that I was working on. Then, somewhat accidentally found the vocals to be a good fit and fully embraced their role. They are used throughout as lead and source material.

Arrangement and production around Admiralbob77’s “Hope is a Dangerous Thing” piano and various other tracks.

After searching and listening, I found an affinity for a number of his piano based chord progressions and guitar vamping, especially the more minor and bluesy ones.

I especially liked the piano from Hope is a Dangerous Thing and the guitar from Pickup repair.

In addition, I recalled Kaer Trouz’s Vocal for Revenge vocals, and thought that they would be a nice addition hear - almost creating a duet with Admiralbob77’s guitar and spoken word.
