Here is a Christmas offering.  I arranged this with the idea of adding some color without taking away from the beauty of the traditional Irish melody.  The singers are the choir of the Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe.  I hope you enjoy!

The Wexford Carol, as arranged by Marshall Webb, retains some of the  old world celtic feel, but with some contemporary chords for flavor.  This is a live track from a Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe concert.

I was imagining what Mary might be thinking once she realized she was carrying a very special child.  With a simply melody, interesting harmonization and a not overly embellished orchestration, this original piece will add a measure of peace and reflection to your next Christmas program. Mary's Lullaby

A little explanation is required about this chart.  In my mind, the orchestra begins with a sort of organized chaos.   Everyone is presenting their own theme, adding to the confusion.  Once the announcement is heard, “Il Est Ne” or “He is Born,” order ensues and peace and harmony is finally realized.
