In pace with rapid beats and under the influence of entheogenic sacraments, we have been dancing and raving in the smoke of sacred fires in order to travel inwards to the undergrounds of bordering dimensions and beyond to the distant fringe of the universe.
Ntogn (enteogen) wants to embody these holy flames and visionary clouds of smoke. To act as a sonic magician, not only fusing the five elements of the pentagram with spells evoked in swirling, dark and psychedelic techno rituals, but also to create a mythological and occult narrative.

Dutch artist Bas Dobbelaer, whose star has been shining brightly in recent years, is gracing us with his full-length masterpiece, "Binding Elements," courtesy of the beloved Something Happening Somewhere imprint. This label has been instrumental in nurturing Bas's talent over the years, and it's only fitting that he returns to its fold with a stunning ten-track album that truly showcases his evolution as an artist.

"Binding Elements" is a journey that embodies Bas Dobbelaer's growth and dedication to his craft. The album is an odyssey tailored for moments of introspection or leisurely movement, inviting listeners into dub electronica and ambient worlds. With a deliberate focus on sound design and an unwavering attention to the finer details, Bas Dobbelaer's work on this album is nothing short of a revelation.

Among the tracks on this remarkable album, we are thrilled to premiere "Submerge." This track showcases Bas's ability to create music that feels like a deep expedition into uncharted waters. "Submerge" is an auditory journey where two sequences intertwine and effortlessly hover above a deep, pulsating groove, accompanied by vibrant sub-frequencies that resonate with power. Echoes From Two Worlds 

Since I started with field recordings, I’ve been fascinated by the contrast between two completely different soundscapes: natural and human-generated ones.

At the beginning of the process, I was pretty sure to record and use only natural sounds, because, you know, for me, it’s a kind of ritual when I need to be detached from the day-to-day life. I want to be completely immersed in a natural environment to understand which type of sound I could use during the production process with the field recordings I’m capturing.

This time, something different clicked in.

I was walking in the city centre of my hometown just doing some basic commissions. At a certain point 3 “sound scenes” captured my attention: a busker, some church bells and a guy selling fruits in a market.

From normal sound perceptions, you usually don’t pay attention to this kind of day-to-day situation, but here, something was, I don’t know, connected.

Everything was perfectly aligned and in tune. I found these 3 sounds similar to what I usually listen to in a wood: birds singing, the wind hitting the trees and rain. 

I don’t know why, but something clicked and I had to record everything and build artificial sounds around this kind of soundscapes. 

"Echoes from two worlds” is conceived within a concept around the sound of nature and human-generated sounds and how they can sometimes be completely different and in contrast with each other, but at the same time have a recurrent pattern that cannot be ignored. 

The idea within this album is to maintain the organic sounds of field recordings with a digital touch using pads and other harmonic sounds.

It seeks to access a deeper sonic dimension where the listener can immerse in a different perception of what we usually hear and try to focus our listening on the dialogue between us and the soundscapes that surround us. 

In this first work we also wanted to include a 3rd vision on these tracks and we’re thankful to have 3 remixes of three great artists and friends that joined this sonic experience with us. 

A special thanks to MARMO (Christian & Marco), Avsluta (Lucie) and Adrian Newgent for their reworks.

With a well-established signature of dark polyrhythmic realms, @sungenam has been widely recognized thanks to Delft’s @mirrorzone imprint, with a release worthy of the attention of the Amsterdam multidisciplinary @minimal_collective. @stagno-records has included a peaktime psychedelic track from the Dutch talent himself, within a VA that includes a series of parallel productions chosen mainly from the Italian peninsula. Sjoerd maintains an enigmatic and illusory approach when it comes to sound design, choosing elements of nu-tribe and transcendental techno, while for live mixing he focuses on ethereal dynamics, emotional reflection and ancestral echoes.

Vodkast Records is made of a record and audio shop, DJ mix series, club nights, and a record label from Tbilisi.

It started in 2010 as the first DJ mix podcast by Gio Bakanidze - our friend and one of the pioneer DJs in Georgia. Before Gio's tragic passing in the same year, six podcasts have been recorded by Georgian DJs posted as ‘oldies’. Vodkast has been re-launched in 2011 by Gio’s friends through posting weekly DJ mixes of local and foreign artists.  Since 2012, Vodkast club nights are being held across various clubs and festivals in Georgia, among them the lovely 4GB - annual dance gathering as a tribute to Gio, which has been growing ever since Gio's friends launched it in 2011.

Later in September 2015, Vodkast Records - a vinyl record shop opened its doors in Tbilisi and restarted the underlying culture since its disappearance from the recent past. Same year saw the first release of Vodkast record label which was followed by couple more limited vinyl releases of local musicians. 

We are grateful to all of our friends, artists, listeners and everyone who has supported Vodkast throughout the years.
