Karl Kirschmayer – one of the highlights regarding Mecklenburg’s electronic dance music culture.

As a passionate musician and later as a part of Intense Music he started up spinning records in the early years of the new century. In these former times he created his own fussy and house-based style. First gig’s showed that Karl, behind the decks, just wanted to let himself go - influenced by his tracks, their careful collection and his mixing.

During the last years he participated in different projects, such as “Buntes Treiben” or his actual one “VmF – Vögeln mit Freunden”. The creative work and a lot of cooperation with regional and international acts led to a smooth change in Karl’s sounds as well as his activities as a producer. Spreading his Mixes from Mecklenburg into the world of clubs, open airs and festivals of northern Germany and foreign countries he created a new period in his musical life. Nowadays he represents a deep and/or tech-based, powerful and melodic sound. There is no typical “Kirschmayer-Sound” – it is more like he keeps his mixes constantly fresh and changed by a big pool of new impressions.

He comes from the high north of Germany and started DJing in the 90s. He produces himself and has already made remixes for other artists, while already having released many tracks with other labels.

Welcome to the WE ARE ONE Podcast Episode 202 with Patty G.

Patric Große alias  Patty G.  who comes from Erfurt in Thuringia, began handling black gold in 1998 at the age of 15 for the first time. At the beginning he was fascinated by wild techno until he gradually developed a feeling for the music, which shaped his own style. His music is strongly influenced by acid house, minimal and Detroit 303, 808 sounds, but he also always knows how to convince with a mixture of bass-heavy deeptech & indie sound.
Things went uphill very quickly and in 2001 the label Kopfgeflüster was founded together with Rick Diablo & Dirk Knocks. Numerous parties were successfully organized in smaller clubs, bars and other locations. This is how he developed into a well-known DJ in the Erfurt scene. As an organizer, he organized several series of events, where he pursued his passion as a resident DJ. In addition to Thuringian greats behind the turntables, he also gave the young Erfurt DJs the opportunity to prove themselves.
After a short break, Patty G. is back and I am very happy to welcome him as a guest!

When Martin Meerwald and Willie Lücking met in 2016, a common passion was quickly found. Music. By this point, Willie had already been a DJ and producer for years. And Martin, one of the founders of the "Tanz aus der Reihe" event series, was already deeply rooted in the pulsating techno scene of the capital city. It was immediately clear that something happened here. Ninetyfour. was born. They quickly established the feeling for their sound. They combine tight basslines with epic melodies and manage to create a soundscape with their sets, which unites modern sounds with elements of the 90s. With this sound, somewhere between melodic house and techno, the two have already taken part at festivals and clubs all over Europe.

Ende 2015 war es – als Daniel Ledwa, Karl Kirschmayer und Florian Neubauer – ihres Zeichens DJs, Musiker, Traumtänzer, Katzenliebhaber, Früh-ins-Bettgeher und Profiradsportler – nach einer nächtlichen Invasion vogelgestalt-ähnlicher Kreaturen und der gemeinsamen Verhinderung der kompletten Versklavung der Weltbevölkerung, einzig und allein mit ihren ausufernden DJ Sets trotzten – und seit jeher dieses prägende Erlebnis als Geburtsstunde ihres gemeinsamen Projektes — Vögel(n) mit Freunden — datieren.

Wie viel von dieser überbrachten Story stimmt, sei mal dahingestellt. Fakt ist jedoch, dass VmF heute nicht nur Clubevent und Label vereint – sondern Menschen unterschiedlichster Charaktere und Interessen zusammengeführt hat um etwas ganz verrücktes geschehen zu lassen.
