Embla Maria "Awoke" (Analogstøy Remix) [Pts 1-2]

I aimed for a caribbean feel using skank guitar, organ bubble, bass and percussion punctuated by a trombone chorus. I also added a sort of descant using a sampled accordeon to complement the voice. Overall I planned this as a response to what I could hear in the vocal line. For this reason the trombone riffs and snare patterns were totally improvised while listening to the voice.

Tried some new things like a circle of 5ths progression with spread triads. Then a bridge in 7/4 and using pitch axis theory but with modes instead of common notes as the emphasis.
