I began following my interests in music and theater at an early age. Its a pursuit that continues to this day. I was a member of the orchestra, jazz band, chorus and several other groups from grade school through high school. I was a founding member of my high school’s swing choir and was the director of my high school madrigal group, which took first place at the state competition during my senior year.

I was an active member of the U.S. Video Game Team in the 80’s and hold several world records and Guinness records, including a record for a marathon game where I played the same game for 78 hours on one quarter. This led to me securing endorsement contracts with several companies due to the high media attention on myself and my teammates at the time.

While attending the University of Wisconsin, I played with bands in Madison’s thriving music scene. I later went into music promotion and moved more towards the business end of music. Having worked jobs from house booking agent for a nightclub to band manager, overseeing sound checks, radio interviews and recording sessions. I have a great resource of experience to draw from. I was even one of the directors of the infamous Mifflin Street Block Party 25 year anniversary, which had over 30,000 people in attendance, including a CNN crew sent to cover the party.

I also had a day job during most of this working for a phone company, as a phone operator. Eight hours a day with a headset on my head helped add to my comfort zone with a microphone. In addition, it also gave me an extensive background in accents and dialects. The time I spent on the road as a band manager exposed me to a lot of accents, but my time on the phone was way more extensive. Before leaving the phone operator job, my office was assigned a project called USA Direct, which assisted international calls coming into the USA.

In 1996 I helped co-found Maximum Ink Music Magazine named for my brother Max, before he passed away. Max and I were both given the gift of perfect pitch. My brother and I have been well known in the Madison area for voice training for many years. My brother Max taught some of the best known voices in the Midwest at his studio, including Grammy nominee Willie Porter from Milwaukee. My vocal range is very flexible, but on the low end borders on the range of a Russian bass. My strong voice combined with my background in breathing techniques gives me an extreme advantage in the recording studio.

I added the whistling tracks following an article I read in Variety. It had an interview with a man who discussed how competitive voice work is. He said he was at a read for voice work, when they announced the voice part he was there for had been filled, but they asked if he could whistle. He gave it a try and got the part and is now very successful in commercial whistling work. I figured since I have perfect pitch and have played horn with some of the biggest names in the music industry, that it would be worth adding some whistling tracks.
