In our first episode of the V&P podcast, we sit down with Pam Frache. Pam is a community organizer and socialist. As the coordinator for $15 and Fairness, Pam helps to coordinate the education and mobilization of working-class people across Ontario. We sat down with her to talk about labour and employment organizing through an anti-capitalist lens. We discussed the law's potential and its pitfalls, while also talked strategy about progressive reform and transformative change both in and out of the law.

In our second episode of the V&P podcast, we share microphones with John No and Mary Gellatly of Parkdale Community Legal Services (PCLS). Together, we talk about the impact of the government's cuts to legal aid on community legal clinics, why PCLS was individually targeted with the biggest cut, and what threats the government's new changes to legal aid proposed in Schedules 15 and 16 of Bill 161 pose for access to justice for low-income communities.

Episode 2: Challenging the Cut-Backs: In Defence of Community Legal Clinics

We are a group of law students and student editors with the Journal of Law and Social Policy. The Voices and Perspectives section of the journal aims to centre marginalized voices in broader legal and social discussions. Our objective is to empower the voices and perspectives that are most often disenfranchised by legal and policy decisions. We aim to provide a platform for discussion of diverse political strategies that go beyond traditional legal approaches to transform law and society.
