27 years ago today, September 28, 1996, I was on the platform of Sendai Station.

I dropped out of college to pursue my dream of becoming a professional musician. And on this day, I finally arrived at the station to head to Tokyo.

My dear friends I met during my university days came to see me off.
My beloved girlfriend, who I've only been dating for half a year, also came to see me off.

I stand in front of the door as the departure bell rings. 
I waved my hand while smiling, wanting to part with a smile. She just looked lonely and embarrassed, but still smiled awkwardly.

The moment the doors closed and the train started moving, her face was covered with her hands and she began to cry, but in a split second her figure faded further and further away.

At that moment, I felt an overwhelming sense of loneliness and regret, and tears overflowed all at once.

I managed to wobble to my seat, but the tears didn't stop and just kept overflowing.

Worried about me, an unknown old lady sitting next to me called out to me, ``Are you okay??Did something happen??''

I thought I had to stop crying, but I just couldn't control my emotions, so I sobbed and explained intermittently.

"I have a dream, so I'm leaving this town today, but because of that, I'm making the people I care about feel very, very lonely.
I really don't know if this decision was the right one. "

I think that's what I talked about.

The old woman rubbed my back and said, "It's okay, you're going to be okay," over and over again.

I continued to cry because of her kindness, without fear of being seen by others. I thought my eyeballs would melt and run off.

I have never cried so much in my life, and if tears have colors, I have never cried the same color as I did that day.

"All the dreams I dreamed that day have come true, and I'm still living happily with my girlfriend."

If I could say that, it would be a beautiful story, but unfortunately it didn't happen and in the end everything just fell out of my hands.

But still, life goes on today.

If there was a "second round" in my life, I often think that I would have done things that way at that time and in that situation.

But even if I could go back to that day again, I would leave. Even if you know the future 😉

It was the most emotional day of my life, but even though I thought, ``I never want to forget this day,'' the memory slowly fades away.

Even so, I wanted to somehow capture this moment forever, so I created this song.

(I chose the 25th anniversary because this song was created in 1998, about a year and a half after my departure. It was a cold winter morning on January 2nd.)

A song about the moment of departure and the days of long-distance love, big dreams and unchanging friendship.

Everything that I have cherished and nurtured is packed into this one song. I would be happy if you could listen to it🤗.
