This Piano Day, I dedicated this full-piano composition to celebrate the beauty of the instrument.

Life in this world is filled with suffering. On top of that, fear of death affects us deep into our soul, built in to our very biological wiring. "The heavens" becomes a potent coping mechanism against both of these painful realities of life. By imagining a world where the shortcomings of the world are non-existent, real or not, it gives us comfort, and uplifts us against the bleak human experience. Despite the hefty weight of the world pulling us down, the embracing arms of the heavens lifts us back up.
