A very important instrumental track to me. Worked on it on and off for almost 2 years... 

Originally titled it "pensive" in the early mixes because I thought it felt kind of thoughtful. I really like the composition and it's maybe my favorite thing I've written. If not it is definitely up there.

The first Ableton project with this composition was created on August 10, 2022. I couldn't decide on a proper mix and would keep working on it and adjusting, learning more about mixing and mastering.

After a lot of different iterations -- A file called "Final Mix" was created May 23, 2023. Nearly a year after the original file. 

A little later, my friend shared an idea they had about a short film or cartoon in which a wizard creates life accidentally? I believe? Out of mushrooms. And this song came to mind. Soon after that conversation -- I started looking at this track through the lens of creation and I adjusted some of its elements. I changed the title to "The Creation." I thought the title was fitting for the song because of its tone that sort of verges on exploration and horror.

Not many adjustments were made to the original composition altogether, mostly changes with the ending -- minor adjustments to instruments and effects, compression and all that -- and many different tempo changes. I at one point had it speed up at the beginning to build intensity, but changed that in this mix.

Today -- June 6 2024 -- 683 Days since the original file was created, I think I've reached a stopping point, and I'm leaving its title of 'The Creation' -- and adding the BPM because there were so many different tempo iterations. 

I think it turned out great but I have learned a valuable lesson -- not to drag my feet with mixing and instead to commit to important decisions. Too much indecision and years pass. This one really got away from me and I still don't think it's exactly perfect but hopefully the time I put into it shows.
