Simonpietro Malandra, aka Malandra Jr. began his career as a musician already from childhood, with the piano, entering the Conservatory,
After a few years started studying clarinet, graduating with honors, winning several awards, and playing in various orchestras and chamber ensembles.  

His wealth of classical music makes him able to shape electronic music with an incredible result of melody, harmony, and rhythm, with shades of bucolic, tradition, and innovation. Bass lines in contrast are very deep and pressing; he loves minor keys, and all this gain him lately the title of teacher at the Tenax Academy for DJs and producers.

Making their highly anticipated second EP debut, Chriss V & Olart deliver So Many Stars and Sapphire, a captivating journey through deep progressive textures and celestial melodies. 

Opening with So Many Stars, the duo sets the tone with a hypnotic groove layered over cosmic soundscapes a track designed to transport listeners beyond the dancefloor. 

Adding his signature melodic warmth, Jelly For The Babies makes his first-ever remix debut on roku, reimagining the track with lush harmonies and delicate emotional pull. 

On the flip side, Sapphire, offers a deeper, moodier excursion, blending driving percussion with rich atmospheric layers. 

Rising talent Alej Ch makes his own remix debut on the label, crafting a beautifully textured reinterpretation that balances energy with introspection. 

With this EP, Chriss V & Olart showcase their evolving artistry while roku continues to expand its sonic universe, welcoming new voices that are set to leave a lasting mark on the imprints journey.

Echonomist was born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece. At early age, Petros’ family got him a basic synthesizer (GEM) and hired a music teacher to teach him traditional Greek music in order to entertain his family on Sundays. Much to his family’s dismay, the plan didn't seem as interesting to Petros as creating weird sounds with his small harmonium and recording his first tracks.
Soon, Petros finished his first downtempo album and formed his first music project called "IνΦο". Performing live with his band, consisting of live musicians and a vocalist, they covered a wide spectrum of electronic downtempo music, releasing 3 studio albums until 2009, gaining some considerable fame–mainly in the Greek electronic music scene.

Always on the lookout for new sounds and music, he soon began to DJ, discovering the full range of electronic dance music. Petros had fallen under the spell of stateside artists and labels like Maurizio, Carl Craig, Black Dog, Underground Resistance, and Echocord–to name a few. At this point he started his own solo project Echonomist, releasing his first tracks on labels such as Resopal, Upon You Records, Time Has Changed, and Dessous Recordings.

Today, more than ever, Echonomist is driven by his passion for musical creativity. He has evolved into a professional DJ, producer, and live performer. While his style may vary somewhere between underground Tech House and Techno, he never compromises on quality. A fact that found him a place amongst the most prolific producers worldwide. His elaborate live performances have been met with international acclaim.

As a DJ, Echonomist brings the same qualities to the table. Comfortably combining music from a wide range, Petros is a dynamic and interactive DJ who blends rolling basslines, harmonic synths, and energetic percussions to craft an infectious and atmospheric sound. It’s all about devotion to the sound and a restless quest for the groove that will make everyone move.

🗯🗯 How has Corona changed your artistic life? 🗯🗯

Corona has of course put my touring life on hold, nevertheless I have tried and turn the lockdown into a positive time and reached some fellow artist to collaborate on music and utilize the time to stay productive and enjoy the country side where I am currently based.

🗯🗯 Do you have any wishes for the time after Corona? 🗯🗯

I do hope things will go back to normal of course although I also wish our industry would take a fresher start and open up to what’s great rather than what’s known for being known. So much grand breaking music out there that doesn’t break through because playing safe has been the leitmotiv of our industry for too many years. I believe this is a time of change and we shall push towards the deeper and forward thinking.
