Hailing from Peel, the 'Capital of DNB' on the Isle of Man, is Drum & Bass Selector, Mash Shimmin. His love for dark underground music is unrivalled, dating back to when he was a young teenager. Now 21, he debuts his first mix on Volume and has his first gig next Saturday at the postponed Underground Sounds event after mixing at numerous house parties over the years.

With his tracks gaining support by the likes of Denis Sulta, Jamie Jones & Patrick Topping to name a few, he has released on some of biggest labels in the game, including Patrick Topping's genre expanding Trick label.

This young talent has nurtured his eclectic repertoire which now spans house, techno, tech-house, and more anomalous electronic genres. His distinctive style harnesses beautiful sounds that take inspiration from his musical education on the guitar, piano, drums, bass and percussive instruments.

Edd's District residency in Malta has earned him a reputation for bringing unparalleled energy to the booth. His drive and dynamism sets him apart as not only a remarkably talented artist but also a blockbuster performer. His Volume mix will take you down the route of both smooth groovy House and peak time pumpers.

Coming in with a new high tempo rave Guest Mix is Isle of Man based selector Lucy Todd. Taking mass inspiration from the likes of Kettama & Mall Grab, Lucy brings us a big energy mix varying from feel good House to thumping Techno. Making her gig debut on the 28th August at Volume's Secret Garden @ The Courthouse, Lucy is not one to be overlooked when she is behind the turntables.

Next on the Volume Guest Mix series is Drum & Bass DJ Amy Mcnicholas from the Isle of Man. Having recently started her own event series '808 Sounds' based in the Isle of Man and Leeds, she joins us for our second Underground Sounds event.
Influenced by Dark Rollers, her inspirations include DLR, Skeptical & Waeys. Her love for the genre came to her at a young age having been exposed to the rising DNB culture in Jersey, and her interests in Reggae & Hip-Hop only drove this further. Catch her playing 12-1 at The Courthouse for Underground Sounds: Heavy & Dark on October 2nd.

After nearly a decade of DJ’ing across in the UK, MERLIN has returned to the Isle of Man for good bringing us an eclectic mix of genres with sound influences touching on Garage, Breakbeat, Techno, House and elements of Bass from the last 10 years up to present, drawing tracks from the likes of Royal T, Kettama, Champion and Asquith. His Volume mix combines many elements of Underground music catering to the tastes of a huge range of dance music lovers. From the pumping sounds of Techno, the dirty feel of Garage, and the nice euphoric groove of House, the mix touches all corners. New Drum & Bass guest mix from talented IOM based DJ, Matty B. 

Matty's love for DNB stemmed from a very young age, having experienced many festivals with prominent DNB acts, including Boomtown & Let It Roll, it was only natural that he would try to make his own mark on the scene. Matty has DJ'ed at many outdoor parties across the Island and also dabbled in the club scene. This high energy mix, influenced heavily by the Neurofunk sub-genre, is definitely one every DNB fan should try out.

Following on from the masterclass in variety by Fionn, the 17th installment in the Volume Resident Mix Series is from another Honcho alike, returning with a more one dimensional mix, reminiscent of UK Funky flavours from days gone by, undertones of Afro beat along with elements of Dancehall and Brazilian Forward Baile. This mix is packed full of percussive goodness from around the globe, hard hitting basslines and heavy kicks throughout, all wrapped up in under 40 minutes.

This mix spins some of the hottest House tunes with big drops and high energy. Having met these guys at our last Birthday event, it is clear to see they have a huge passion for Electronic Music and this mix showcases that. Along with DJing, these two are producing some lovely groovy House tracks that you are sure to hear in the not too distant future. You must keep an eye on these guys on the Island scene as it is only a matter of time until you see them on lineups throughout.

Our 9th Guest Mix is by GES, A DJ and Producer from Galway Ireland. GES has been Mixing and Producing for 3 years and has already released around 10/15 tracks, with some reaching 100,000 + plays on Soundcloud. GES's influences are the likes of Kettama but admits he still loves the rock classics such as Oasis. 

It's still early days for such a talented young DJ and Producer, So we expect to see big things from GES in the future.
