➔ About the Album
Collection of Liquid Drum & Bass works from 2021~2024.
This album is a testament to almost 4 years of producing, while still not finding what I truly enjoy making. Perhaps, one could say I'm lost. But at the same time, I've been lost forever yet I've never felt like it was truly a problem. So Let's hope the next few years are equally filled with both ups and downs - I think this is what makes my life so interesting.
Liquid DnB has been a great genre to produce over the years, with inspiration by Makoto, LSB, Harry Shotta, and many more. While being a genre I sometimes consider as 'lazy' or 'uninspired', I still think it's one of the widest subgenres of drum & bass, considering the range of instruments---both synthetic and acoustic---which can be used.

The cover artwork and video visuals are a love letter to my magnificent country and region - the French Alps, and showcase something I really enjoy: taking deep breaths outside through driving, hiking or cycling. The photo was taken in 2023 during a bivouac and is the westside of Taillefer from the Plateau des Lacs, and various videos were taken from 2021 to today on various trips and hikes, by car, foot or bicycle.

I've always been a sucker for techcore and hitech genres. But I've never actually tried producing this. Like ever. For ASS, I've decided to make Techcore! I hope you enjoy. I've referenced a few tracks from Techcore Evangelix 03, mostly RYOQUCHA - Haze, VOLTA - ENERGY and Skybreak - CLOUDBUSTER. The blue from the sky and the sea become nothing but astral projections of our collective unconsciousness. In this dark world, our imagination breaks free and takes ahold of reality. "Yume ga ukiyo ka, Ukiyo ga yume ka" ; is The Dream just a floating world, or is the world just a fleeting dream? So clear your mind, take a deep breath and join us in the heart of the sea, within the Lapis Lazuli.

Liquid DnB has been a great genre to produce over the years, with inspiration by Makoto, LSB, Harry Shotta, and many more. While being a genre I sometimes consider as 'lazy' or 'uninspired', I still think it's one of the widest subgenres of drum & bass, considering the range of instruments---both synthetic and acoustic---which can be used.

The cover artwork and video visuals are a love letter to my magnificent country and region - the French Alps, and showcase something I really enjoy: taking deep breaths outside through driving, hiking or cycling. The photo was taken in 2023 during a bivouac and is the westside of Taillefer from the Plateau des Lacs, and various videos were taken from 2021 to today on various trips and hikes, by car, foot or bicycle.

First idea was fleshed out during '2hr jam' (shoutout Axo & Demi) in January 2024, with vocals taken from 'Zar & DRS - Like to Know'. This track was originally called 'Highs and Lows'.
Initially made to see if I could arrange and compose for EPianos myself. Went back to it later in 2025, working on the jazz section and drum solo.

➔ About the Track
One of my oldest tracks, made soon after Room to Grow and City Streets, circa July 2022. Initially with a much higher tempo (190) and heavily chopped Amen Breaks.
It was slowed down and actually worked much better. The second drop is what remains of the original idea, with a much more chaotic drum pattern.
Similarly to 'isolated', I composed for the piano in this track.
The vocals are heavily pitched down, from the famous Veela pack which I've been addicted to ever since I first began producing music.
For some reason this track just gets me in a certain mood about good times I've spent making music as a beginner.

➔ About the Track
Originally a flip on a random Rhodes sample I downloaded from YouTube, I haven't been able to locate the video ever since. Started August 2023.
The main rhodes in the drop is duplicated and pitched up an octave, with volume automation, giving it this guitar-like tonality. One of my favourite sound design technique since, which I've reused in tracks such as Sirens (never released but iykyk).
The vocal is made using Synthesizer V, with this being my first experience with lyrics, up until my remix of Bad Seed for YOKAI's album. I wanted a deep voice, similar to that of DRS which I was (and am still) addicted to. Unfortunately not quite what I envisioned but it worked.

➔ About the Track
Originally a VTQ track because I wasn't confident in me to use my main alias for it. 
This one feels very special to me. I wrote and produced it on my laptop, on vacation in Reunion Island (my second home, where I lived for 3---very formative---years), circa March 2022.
I discovered Arturia's V Collection 7 at the time and was hooked. This only uses simple VSTs, and was probably one of my first non-schranz track I actually finished.
It has a sister jungle track, that i also produced at the same time. Both were sent to Cynphetic (shoutout) for 'NEOSTALGIA ONLINE' and I still don't know why this one got taken in.
The track uses an ASMR whispering video as a sample, which is truly wayyyy too reverby. I got the idea from The Caracal Project's track "This World Stopped", and it's actually from the same video by SophieMichelle ASMR. This is pretty much what also got me addicted into ASMR, which I currently am listening to while typing this paragraph. Yay!
I decided to include it in this album to remind me of the progression that came from this. The name was chosen so that I could reflect on it later on... Smart :P

PSYQUO: Hi, it's PSYQUO. This time collabing with Volumetrique, we made a Tech DnB track. For the concept I had while making parts of the track - the song reflects the many things we see in the world. This sadness and hopeless is what many of us are feeling right now. I hope these feelings come through the song. As for the collab, I originally approached Volumetrique to make a Schranz track, but after a bit of back and forth, we decided to do DnB instead. (Schranz collab when) A big thank you to Volumetrique for making the track whole!

And it's a Tech DnB banger with feelings™, inspired by the likes of IMANU, The Caracal Project, C&K... With the massive help and gorgeous sound design skills of PSYQUO, we've cooked a snappy, tech-neurofunk-ish track. You won't find any snappier drums anywhere else at M3 ;) ( ok, maybe at Supire's :P ). I've been immensely carried by PSYQUO, who also initiated the collab and I'm deeply thankful for the opportunity, through the highs and the lows. We ended up crunching hard to finish this~!
