Every forest, every mountainside, every city has a unique sound atmosphere that will rub off on the music it has inspired.Architecture and urbanisation blend with the environment to form increasingly complex and unique audio-visual screens.

Each natural or urban environment therefore plays its own music. The unique experiences of the inhabitants of a village or a street blend together over time to create a common historical narrative; to build, strengthen and continuously develop a latent identity that gives substance to a characteristic artistic current.

Berlin's current identity is unique. It has grown out of the ashes of a

 A breathless, divided and unequal world to give birth to a futuristic, creative and unifying structure.

Techno has flourished here like no other. Only this city, at that particular moment in history, could generate the reference in electronic music that we today call Berlin techno.

For their first EP, the Berlin duo Rafao chose Ghara Records. This EP, named Riga, in honour of Rigaer Strasse, is the result of the sounds and stories that this street has produced and still produces. It is the synthesis, a vibrant and authentic sound fresco that plunges you into the spirit of the alternative and anti-capitalist neighbourhoods that are the very essence of Techno with that crazy desire for a radically different tomorrow !

Voodoo J, aka Jerome plays music since the age of 15. He has been developing his art during 10 years on the amplified music scene playing bass, guitar and percussions. In 2000 he started producing, while discovering the computer possibilities for the creation of music. It has been a true revelation for him to be able to make tracks with only a computer and a midi controller.Since then Voodoo J has built his own home studio and dedicated his talent to electronic music in all its manners.
2001 he integrated the “Exzyt” audio & visual collective and from this time on, he performed in a huge amount of events: “Les nuits blanches” (Paris), “Dolmush X Press” (Berlin), festival “Eme 3” (Barcelona), festival “Emergences” (Paris), “Biennale architecture” (Venezia), “Mapping Festival” (Geneva)….
In 2007 Voodoo J starts his own radio show in Strasbourg on RBS fm, to get people discovering techno and minimal electro music, An acoustic experiment characterized by its groovy sounds and its energizing mixes.
Since then, he played in numerous of Events like at Love connection, Panic at Work, Electro Flowers, l Electro summer session, Big Bang, DV1, Elastic bar, La Java (Paris), L’Osmoz, L Elektron, Le Tunnel, La laiterie clubbing, Voodoo night, Dancing together, Universal Dog…
