Kodiak - The Calling

Liam Monaghan is a 26 year old DJ, radio presenter and promoter originally from the East Midlands. Liam’s appeared on the likes of BBC Radio 1Xtra, Rinse FM & Soho radio in 2019 and continues to bring brand new Reggae, Dancehall and Jungle music through his BBC & Global Radio award nominated podcast ‘Reggae Roots & Bass’. After a busy summer, dates are being filled for 2020 which already include European dates and a range of UK festivals.

Liam discovered his love for radio at Leeds university, student radio there gave birth to the Reggae Roots & Bass show which today has amassed over a million Soundcloud plays and simulcasted via various stations across the UK and Europe. Reggae Roots & Bass has a ever growing social media following which collectively exceeds 40,000.

Liam has worked relentlessly to embed himself within the reggae community and gained the respect of top flight musicians having interviewed the likes of Jimmy Cliff, Beres Hammond, Jah Cure, Johnny Osbourne, Protoje, Jesse Royal and The Scientist to name a few. Liam was featured in the Jamaican Observer for a special show titled Women In Reggae joined by Lady G, Cecile and Carrol Thompson.

Liam was invited to be a stage partner in Peckham Rye Music festival in 2017 which gave him a platform to showcase many acts he has championed via RRB including Shanty, The Hempolics, Serocee, Sisters of Reggae. After a busy few years of deejaying the likes of Shindig, NASS, Liam started a RRB monthly residency in a Jamaican bakery come nightclub in Peckham which was cited as a brilliant example of cross community interaction through music. 2018 into 2019 saw Liam play Fabric, Ministry Of Sound, NASS Festival, Boomtown Fair, Snowbombing, Magic Garden, One Love Festival, Positive Vibration, Big Dub, High Rise, London Jerk Fest, Vegan Nights London, Mick's Garage delivering various sets spanning from reggae and jungle through to drum & bass and dancehall
