Memórias de Oneyda was produced during the RMX residency held by São Paulo's public cultural center CCSP in celebration of the 85 years of the sound library Oneyda Alvarenga. All percussion, beats, harmonic layers used in the EP were extracted from the vast collection of the Discotheque - Most of the vocals were taken from the mission of folkloric research, idealized by Mario de Andrade in the ’30s. The track's sonorities were adapted to the texture and quality from the oldest recording - seeking for an intersection between contemporary sound and a 30’s acetate disc. As if it was an old recording from a parallel reality.

Hot, dense air fills the streets, condensing into whirlpools of pranayamic condensation that breathes in the stories of the street...In the surrounding neighbourhood, once empty buildings appear like sand dunes, sculptured by the wind and whispers of desert mantras that move smoothly through the rooms and winding corridors like the surface ripples on sand...You can hear the wind and smell the presence of an ancient electrical thunderstorm in the air...

These strange lands are archives, who’s contents can be seen in the watermarks left on the sides of buildings that have since receded into the minds of their occupants...From time to time, and with a third eye, the contents can be seen floating in the most unsuspecting of places... Follow them, down winding alleyways, swirling through side streets as they paint a constantly shifting image of the twelve districts that bare the marks of their peculiar origins...This is the place that in certain ancient languages had no name, but is now referred to as Berlin...It is here that you will meet Matteo Maugli, sat between the humps of his desert ship, orchestrating the sounds of this journey...

We are very happy to kick off into 2019 with the start of a new podcast series, in order to present to you some of the brilliant artists that made an impact on the things we do with MACH MAL LANGSAM and the way how we do them.

It is a special blessing for us to be able to announce @BirdZzie as our very first contributor! It also makes us feel a bit uncomfortable though, for it reminds us of the fact, that we have been meaning to invite BirdZzie to one of our events ever since we started out with MML almost three years ago! But the opportunity just didn't present itself, yet... We will just think of this collaboration as a good omen for 2019!

To the global ketapop/slow house/ancestro-futurismo scene, BirdZzie's role is of no little significance, not only as DJ and producer, but also as a fertilizer for the whole movement to grow. He has helped the scene gain a lot of impetus, most notably in his role as one of the foundation members of the already legendary São Paulo-based label TROPICAL TWISTA.

With this compilation we are presenting a selection of new names we’d never heard of until our open call, old friends we somehow haven’t already worked with and amazing established names. VOODOOHOP is an outlandish art collective born from a series of underground parties and is now a striking artistic movement in Brazil. Through 6 years of collaborative events, Voodoohop has gathered a myriad of artists from different disciplines with the likes of Djs, live performers, dancers and visual artists. Together they have created a multi sensory tropical cabaret, mixing colourful and exuberant visuals, combined with elements of Brasilian traditional heritage and ritualistic performance. Nomadic in nature, the collective has transformed spaces ranging from abandoned buildings to natural hideaways. Always experimenting with different media and formats, Voodoohop is in constant flux.
