The Garden - "Slice Em"

After the demise of the short lived group CABAL, it's principal songwriter Bas wrote a full album by going back to his roots. The result is the 1997 album "Tales of the Shade" by Dutch wave band The White Rose. The album explores mixing of folk, sound bytes and dark themes such as abandonment. The sound is made with a Juno 6, Atari Mega ST, Dr 550, SC55 and via layered recordings via a 4 track and DCC tapes. All songs but "Unspeakable" were recorded by Bas. Unspeakable was recorded together with Niels Lefeber in a frenzy in one night. The artwork was done by Inez Staarink
