Vørgum- meaning Vargs or wolves in the Faroese tongue. 
Wolves are symbols on so many levels. At the very base level they are creatures of the wild, ravenous hunters, and at the same time are very majestic animals. They are the elite, residing at the top of the food chain in our folk-home, mother Europe. Above that, their pack formation shows natural loyalty and unity. One more plane above that, they are the shining example of the primal hunter that lies within each of us willing to tap into their own inner-varg. Higher still, they symbolize freedom that comes from the wilderness, away from the restraints of the common man. Finally, they fully embody the fierce and relentless nature of true black metal: at best, precise, deadly, and chillingly efficient. 
This is what Vørgum stands for. We communicate our name through our music. We are intense, cold, and ravenous while still holding true to the concepts of the beauty and majesty displayed by wolves. We seek to embody the very essence of the most sacred of animals, and in turn create an aural experience of this creature. We 
We recognize the vast importance of our folk-home Europe; however, we are a proud VINNISH band. We raise the flag of Vinland high, and sing of its forests, its majesty, and its grandeur. Hail to mother Vinland!
Vørgum is not and does not stand for NSBM. We have many NSBM influences, and are rightfully proud of our heritage, but we are not Nazis. We use symbols of our heritage such as the suncross to honor gods, ancestors, and ancient ways, not for the advancement of any political ideal.
