I was tinkering around in the studio with some big pad sounds and found myself in the same key signature as 'Crockett's Theme' from Miami Vice. Once I hit a couple of the right chords I knew I was going to have to make my own jam on the motif. I left a bunch of stuff out and Electro'd it up. Anyway. I'll never release it due to licensing nonsense so it is available as a free download if anyone wants to snag it here on Soundcloud. MPC triggers TR8S (into H90 distortion), MicroFreak, SE-02, OB6, Hydrasynth, Peak, and Rev2. Pretty simple stuff but often times there is beauty in simplicity. Enjoy it for a New York minute!

Scott McKay, also known as Fear-E, is a DJ and producer based in Glasgow. He specialises in jacking house, techno, and electro, drawing inspiration from the raw early sounds of Chicago, Detroit, and the UK. Additionally, his work as Breakbeat Energy showcases a blend of breakbeat, jungle, and hardcore music influenced by the 90s and early 2000s UK rave scenes. 

Scott has built an impressive discography, releasing music on respected labels such as Dixon Avenue Basement Jams and Dark Entries. He also runs his own label, Posh End Music, which is dedicated to releasing high-quality electronic music that pays homage to his roots. Recently, he founded another outlet, sister label Breakbeat Energy, focusing on all forms of music that stem from the hardcore-oriented spectrum.

Over the past decade, Scott has delivered impactful DJ sets across various venues and festivals in the UK and further afield. He has made guest appearances on several radio shows and has received airplay on BBC Radio 1, 6 Music, and Rinse FM, with his tracks featured in Radio 1's Essential Mix multiple times. His productions have been supported by prominent artists including Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, The Hacker, Randomer, Jerome Hill, Marcel Dettmann, James Ruskin, Bloody Mary, Paul Woolford, Skream, Leftfield, and the late, great Andrew Weatherall.

Which artists has influenced you the most?  
- There are so many, but Jeff Mills, Robert Hood, Lory D and Drexciya are the main ones that influence my production, I’d say.

What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future?  
- I have two new EPs coming out in November on Rebelskin Records and Brockout, and my second album is being pressed and is to be released next February on my own label, Posh End Music.

What inspires you now to create music?  
- Loads of things - Seasonal changes, hearing new exciting music, being in clubs and at festivals, and my mental state.

What set-up do you use when creating music? 
- Maschine MK3 and a whole variety of plugins.

Machine Cult — the Amsterdam-based electronic platform run by Déandrah and Garçon Taupe — returns with the Edition Four release party at OT301 on 7 November.
The new V.A. compilation features tracks from Garçon Taupe, Bertram, 2:29, Beau Wanzer, Déandrah, and Masha Wordpress. At the launch, all contributing artists will play DJ sets, with Déandrah providing live visuals throughout the night.

Expect an evening of potent electronics and immersive visuals, celebrating the forefront of the underground.

Comb Filters in Relation to the Human Condition by Déandrah.
Every motion leaves an echo.

In TIME TO FACE, Boris Divider seems to operate from an invisible sub-layer of the system, where machines no longer execute orders—they interpret, react and reconfigure themselves. Each track works as a fragment of a world in mutation, a territory where the friction between algorithm and synthetic consciousness generates brief sparks of humanity. On Walls, structures rise like barriers erected by the network itself, while Time To Face opens the first emotional fracture within this controlled environment. Benchmark Test #T08A2 acts as a short diagnostic interlude, an internal check-up that prepares the ground for Rival, where the tension amplifies and takes shape as an open confrontation between forces that can no longer turn back. A cold, persistent inner pulse suggests that something is about to break—or awaken.

It is in Time To Face and, especially, Your Fate that this fracture becomes pure emotion. Divider introduces melodies that do not intend to move you, yet inevitably do; minimal gestures that feel like residual memory trapped between cables and predictive models. Rival works as the bridge between diagnosis and collapse, driving the narrative toward a point of no return. Each frequency feels like a message transmitted from an eroded future, where technology no longer imitates the human—it analyses it, reflects it and confronts it. VCS2600 has been in the game since the late 90s and his long out of print debut EP on Rikos Records is a sought after item of electro history. His second release was on the Swedish electro establishment Stilleben records. Both EPs are digitally available on his Bandcamp: https://vcs2600.bandcamp.com/

Apart from the two full length EPs he also contributed to a few other Stilleben releases and his timeless remix of Faceless Mind - Ocean Movers was featured on the Kern Vol. 04 compilation which was curated by the Detroit heavyweight DJ Stingray.

Forehard is the bossman of the recently launched Inceptum Records. 'First Four' is the label's initial release which is a beautiful EP with Detroit influences all produced by Forehard himself. The last copies of the limited blue pressing are available directly from the label. Apart from his solo productions Forehard's work has been heard on The Guide Girls project, who were featured on a Vortex Traks VA compilation a few years back.

Rhythm Device has a raw hardware jam kind of vibe and it's already supported by Dave Clarke.

Dutch electronic music pioneer Das Ding's late night modular jam on Vortex Traks. Danny Bosten has been making music since the early 1980s releasing his music and friends' music via his own cassette label called Tear Apart Tapes. Detroit based producer/DJ, Marshall Applewhite is a man of many hats. His aliases include OktoRed, Cocky Balboa, Star Machine and Secret Shower, to name a few. His sound, albeit jarring at times, encompasses the gritty nature of the city he was brought up in. Slow low, acrid, low frequency soundscapes are all apart of what makes Applewhite unique in an overpopulated world of generic music. With a slew of releases out on Detroit Underground, How To Kill, Clan Destine, Clone and his own labels YoSucka! and Junted, Marshall is showing no sign of slowing down. 

If edm is drug music, Marshall Applewhite is the anti drug. Every 16 year old on molly would run from this stuff. Every person who understands underground dance music though, they will get it, they will love it.
