Ōshima Ryōta was a Japanese poet of the Edo period. Some sources say he was a disciple of Yosa Buson, while others say his master was Hattori Ransetsu. He's mostly remembered for his essay “Bashō ku kai” 芭蕉句解 ('Study of Bashō's haiku') published in 1759, a magnum opus of his studies and literary theories on Matsuo Bashō's work.

In Norse mythology, Mímir is the keeper of wisdom, a guardian of profound knowledge hidden in the Well of Mímir. Beneath the roots of Yggdrasil, the world tree, this sacred well holds the secrets of existence.

Mímisbrunnr, often called "The Tree of Knowledge," symbolizes growth, wisdom, and the eternal quest for understanding. Legends say its roots reach deep into the well, intertwining the wisdom of the earth and the cosmos.

Odin, in his relentless pursuit of enlightenment, sacrificed one of his eyes to drink from this well, gaining the wisdom to guide gods and men alike. His sacrifice reminds us: true knowledge requires courage and a willingness to pay the price.

Let the story of Mímir inspire your own journey toward wisdom and self-discovery. A significant symbol of wisdom and the interconnectedness of all realms.
