Featuring new material and reworked soundtracks, the album drifts from plaintive piano-led passages to brisk chamber music and back again, tied together by the textured layering of found sounds and instruments that distinguishes Thomas’s music.

After tracking down an old Bechstein Model 9 upright piano for ‘Asylum For Eve’, Thomas set about modifying and preparing it with cardigans, screws and nails in order to provide the textures and timbres which characterise the album’s dense, affecting sound. Techniques employed for the album include the intricate layering of bowed guitars and ukuleles, and fingerpicked violins, banjo and charango. It’s processes such as these, coupled with Hill’s high quality composition and musicianship, that see the album at once expansive and intimate.

✭ ✭ ✭ ABOUT 'THE SHAPES OF COLLAPSES' ✭ ✭ ✭

The Shapes of Collapses is Paskine’s sophomore album. His debut album Nimod was released in 2014 by VoxxoV Records. His new album is composed of ten tracks (and two bonus tracks) mirroring the different shapes of collapses and explosions. 
It is a die-hard work striving to reach sound abstraction as close as possible, and it sometimes achieves this goal. As a result, the melodies, the rhythmics, and the other repetitive elements constantly evolve until they collapse and drown in their own sonorous and abrasive streams. It only comes to mutation and the evolution of sounds. 
Consequently, this album can be equated with a repetition of cycles freely inspired by natural disasters such as the melting of ice caps, volcanic eruptions, meteorological anomalies and so on. The sound elements are all exclusively electronic. The Shapes of Collapses is the result of several years of work and research. The latter were accomplished especially thanks to the gmem CNCM in Marseilles, who offered their invaluable help during a research residency in 2015 and 2016.

The Shapes of Collapses est le second album de Paskine. Il fait suite à son album Nimrod édité en 2014 par VoxxoV Records. Cette collection de dix pièces sonores (plus deux titres bonus) est construite autour de l’idée de composer les formes d’écroulements, de déflagrations. 
C’est un travail jusqu’au-boutiste cherchant à s’approcher au plus près de l’abstraction sonore, pour parfois l’atteindre. Ainsi, les mélodies, rythmiques et autres éléments répétitifs évoluent constamment jusqu’à s’écrouler et se noyer dans leurs propres torrents sonores abrasifs. Tout n’est ici question que de mutation et d'évolution de la matière. 
En cela, l’album peut-être considéré comme une répétition de cycles s’inspirant librement de réactions naturelles radicales, fonte des glaces, éruptions volcaniques, événements météorologiques etc. 
Tous les éléments sonores sont ici purement électroniques. 
Cet album est le fruit d'une année de travail et de recherche, réalisé notamment grâce à l'aide précieuse du gmem CNCM Marseille, lors d’une résidence de recherche en 2015 et 2016.

Peter Broderick returns with Allred & Broderick – a duo project between him and his musical partner David Allred – and their debut album ‘Find The Ways’ out on April 7th 2017.

Armed with nothing but their voices, a violin and an upright bass, Allred & Broderick began their journey to create an album as minimal as possible. Recorded in Peter’s studio The Sparkle on the Oregon coast, the pair used this solitude to focus on creating something as raw and honest as possible, particularly in what some might deem unattainable during a time where complexity is sought most.

In a world full of noise and the anxieties of every day life, Find The Ways brings us together and reminds us to appreciate and confront the simple and fundamental facts of life, and that we as individuals will eventually find our way.

“I sensed a truly unique character in David’s own music that is wonderfully heartfelt and sincere. With this recording David and I set out to make something raw which is an honest document of what we are capable of doing together at once, with just two acoustic instruments and our voices. The entire album was recorded live, with no overdubs and no edits. Just two guys playing together in a room. I have always dreamed of doing a project in which I only use my violin and my voice, and to do this alongside David’s upright bass and voice feels like the perfect fit. It is a truly 50/50 collaboration.“ — Peter Broderick

The making of this album was an incredibly fun challenge; writing music to be performed and recorded live with only violin, upright bass, and voices. Artist and long time collaborator of Erased Tapes Peter Liversidge was commissioned to paint the cover art as per his ‘Sign Painting’ project. Liversidge also painted the fragmented lyric signs featured in the official music video for ‘The Ways’, directed by label founder Robert Raths.
