Protecting the tradition of reggae's rich heritage, Mystic Revealers formed in Bull Bay, Jamaica during the 1970s. After a nearly 15 year hiatus, the "fathers of the Reggae Revival" movement have returned with the four original members still with the band: Billy Wilmot (guitar, vocals), Nicholas Henry (drums), Steve Davis (vocals, lead guitar) and Leroy Edwards (bass).

Crucial Cuts gathers key tracks from the band’s catalog, including “Young Revolutionaries”; “Rasta Man”; “I’m Gonna Tell Ya” featuring Anthony B; and the Sizzla collaboration “Tell Them.” In a nod to their other passions, the cover depicts founding members Wilmot, Edwards and Henry on surfboards and jetskis.

Three decades after their earliest single releases, the band’s message remains exactly the same as it did when Wilmot, Edwards, Henry and Davis first came together near the shores of Bull Bay. 

“We are like a postman sending a letter,” Wilmot says. “We might not be the ones who wrote the letter, even though the songs are ours. The messages being transmitted are messages from the Almighty—messages of love, messages of honor, messages of truth, messages of justice, messages of unity.”

Since 2010 Aurora Innovations and Roots Organic sponsored many music
mixtape but with ‘Food For Though’ it’s for the first time they collaborate on
the productions of original tracks with the California-based label Sugar Cane
Records.

All the songs are originally produced for this project and they talk about
cultivation and healthy lifestyle, like the title track ‘Food For Though’ from Jah
Sun and I- Kronik.

The Californian singer and owner of Sugar Cane Label Jah Sun, gives his
contribution with the songs ’Farmer’s Anthem’ and ‘Pro Seed’.

From the Sugar Cane we find also Raphael from Italy with ‘Joka Farm Boy’, a
song against pesticides in agricultural products in favor of biodynamic and
organic cultivation with the Jamaican veteran artist Triston Palma, David
Lion from Italy with ‘Organic Herb’ and Bobby Hustle from Seattle with ‘Up In
the Hills’.

The compilation ‘Food For Thought’ features also jamaican artists that live in
the West Coast as Messenjah Selah (‘Conscious Way’) and Stevie Culture
with Jah Works (‘Can’t live Without’).

Then we find Ras Attitude from Virgin Island with ‘Healing Herb’, the veteran
sensation from Brooklyn Rocker T with ‘Roots Organic’ and Don Sugar with
the original dub version ‘Dub For Though’.

All the songs are produced by Don Sugar and mixed by Daddario Casillo.

The single the West reflects on the current state of violence that has engulfed Montego Bay. 
It makes comparisons to the city as a real life wild wild west because the city was not always as it is now. The track was inspired by the rampant acts of crime and how close they have become to innocent people.

Living in the wild wild west has impacted so many people even ones who are close to Indie Allen. His cousin was shot and injured by a stray bullet on the highway and he  also lost several friends and relatives to similar incidents. The path many youngsters take does not promote peace and Indie Allen wants to try to change this for his hometown.
