Pierre-Auguste Renoir (February 25, 1841 to December 3, 1919) was a French painter originally associated with the Impressionist movement. His early works were typically Impressionist snapshots of real life, full of sparkling color and light. By the mid-1880s, however, he had broken with the movement to apply a more disciplined, formal technique to portraits and figure paintings, particularly of women. Renoir mastered the ability to convey his immediate visual impressions, and his paintings showed great vitality, emphasizing the pleasures of life despite the financial worries that troubled him. Several of his masterpieces date from this period including Luncheon of the Boating Party.  Renoir had his first attack of rheumatism in 1894, and, as the attacks became more and more frequent, he spent more and more time in southern France, where the climate was better for his health. About 1899 he sought refuge in the small village of Cagnes; in 1907 he settled there permanently, buying the estate of Les Collettes, where he spent the rest of his life. In 1910 he was no longer able to walk. Although his infirmity became more and more constraining, Renoir never ceased to paint; when his fingers were no longer supple, he continued by binding his paintbrush to his hand.  Several months before his death, Renoir was able to go to Paris, where several friends wheeled him for the last time through the Louvre to view the masterpieces that he had venerated throughout his life. Renoir died in Cagnes-sur-Mer on December 3, 1919 at the age of 78.

Manchmal sucht mein Herz gefühlt die innere Stille. Obwohl das Herz im tiefsten Sinne ja nicht Still sein kann.
Es ist einfach eine Metapher. Einfach nur in einmal für einen Moment in sich ruhen.

Mit diesem Musikstück wollte ich das zum Ausdruck bringen.

"The silence of my heart" (07.08.2024)

Sometimes my heart feels like it is looking for inner silence. Although the heart cannot be silent in the deepest sense.

It's simply a metaphor. Just resting for a moment.

I wanted to express that with this piece of music.

We all need some healing time on this blue dot we live on called Earth.....

"It’s been said that ‘Healing Time on Earth’ was only performed once by John Denver and that was at the Windstar Symposium in 1995. In fact, the song has actually never got published.

Before singing this beautiful and peaceful tune, John Denver admits that this song wasn’t the easiest for him to write.

“David Brower, who I love with all my heart and respect more than I could ever express, has been after me for about five years to write a song called ‘Healing Time on Earth,’ John explains to the audience. “And I said ‘I will’. And I have wanted to desperately. But somehow it just hasn’t come. And I kept thinking that it’s gonna be one of those songs that just one day, you know, it’s just all gonna be there.”

Then John Denver goes on about how he ends up writing some of his songs in 10 minutes while others take months and months. “I don’t know how songs happen or where they come from. It’s an incredibly magical thing to me,” he says.

He admits that ‘Healing Time on Earth’ has taken him right up until this performance to finish, and it is still not completely polished. But he still wanted to play it for the audience and his friend, David.

“So, I don’t know how it happens and I don’t know the words to this song,” John shares while the crowd laughs. “I may know some of them. This is a song in progress, folks
