Heist comes to V Recordings with his debut EP for the label, 'Harlots'. The four-track release showcases Heist's connections with the foundations of the Drum & Bass movement as he draws influences from the classics and spins them for a new era. With two tracks featuring OG MC Funsta, who brings an extra layer of hype and energy on 'Rob Da Bank' and 'Camouflage'.

Fans of Heist's music will be familiar with the infectious grooves and hard-hitting delivery on the 'Harlots EP'. For those new to his music, Heist's sound draws influences from the full D&B spectrum, which this special release tipping a hat to some of the classic V producers like Krust and Dillinja. Title track 'Harlots', takes things in a darker direction with its menacing bassline and eerie atmospherics. Heist shows off his production skills across the EP with intricate drum work and a brooding energy that is sure to leave a lasting impression.

With previous releases with the V family on Philly Blunt Records and Chronic, as well as Metalheadz, Digital Soundboy, Low Down Deep and his own Co-Lab Recordings Heist has established himself as a respected and influential producer in the drum and bass scene. The continued support he has from DJs across the whole scene for the last 20 years is a testament to this.

With an incisive passion for the dark side, Identity Records founder Adam Henton aka DIS:TURBED has been systematically laying down his signature style of disturbing Dnb, bringing along a slew of like-minded artists via his label's output. While the energy he evokes is negative based, there is always a solid rhythm and flow that drives the music forward: it is often upbeat and focuses on the stripped back aesthetic. Using a minimal amount of instruments along with layers processed with extreme pressure, he has forged a unique sound best described as a dark toned chest-heavy vibe.

From Totallywykd's intriguingly groovy and militant opener "Never Miss" to L!L0's robotic "Null Polarity" or Durabilty's metallic "Traverse" that evokes glitches from a particularly well known anime series, this compilation is about looking ahead, about the possibilities, about the future. Other artists featured on are Sephia with his unique blend of magic hidden in "Security Code", NKZ and his cinematographic "Sahara", Malush's "Interstellar" deals with dark matter, An Galar Dub provides a fine interlude with a cleverly textured "Giniuint" while DSurr keeps moving things forward with a neat and tidy "Touching Stars". Prag.matic joins the party with "Death Of Fear", a dark and heavy roller and last but not least, to end this futuristic journey on a high note, VariableOp's "The Trench" leaps into another universe and delivers the goods fantastically with a very original take on the genre.
