Phase 2 comes to the Innerground fold in outstanding form with three tracks that could arguably have been designed from the ground up for the label.

"Stranger Things" kicks things off with a tight stepper of a beat accentuated by some lovely work on the keys. The track bears the marks of the title with some ethereal backdrops and harmonies before launching back into the full body roll of the main break.

"Come On Then" is next with a similarly eerie feeling to the soundscape but a more stripped back, minimal approach. Building to mini crescendos throughout and layering the elements gives the track a new lease of life every 16 bars and identifies Phase 2's ability to create dynamic and accessible audio.

And finally, we have "Go Pro" - a favourite of DJ Marky's for a while now and captures many different elements of the DnB spectrum. A highly intricate break coupled with some liquid rhodes-style keys and some low-end wobble means there is a little something for everyone to groove to on this track.

CNVX welcomes Joe Moses aka ‘Need For Mirrors’ to the label for a release of 4 tracks dripping in 90’s dnb goodness. The Cactus EP throws elements of old Virus and Photek into the mix but retains the NFM sound throughout. 

Coming off the back of his well received ‘Swims’ LP and the more recent Ram Records release, the CNVX EP showcases his production abilities as a producer on the cutting edge while using a sonic palette of yesteryear to devastating effect.

The tracks having heavy support from DJ’s and producers across the board including  Bailey, Doc Scott, Storm, Total Science, Krust, Mark System and label boss Kid Drama.

The track ‘Sumi’ was featured in one of Kid Dramas studio mixes with no tracklisting and had people guessing for a couple of years. Well the wait is over, Cactus EP drops on the 15th of April in all of your favourite outlets.

Monk Audio’s Erritate links up with microphone veteran Jimmy Danger and Section 23 for his ‘Garden Tune’ EP. Certainly not written behind his gaff in the rain, this heavy dose of drum and bass pressure is a true representation into the mind of a drum and bass producer that’s tampered with every glass jar stored in the shed, no matter how cloudy.

Mind warping vibes a run on the EP’s title track which, when combined with Danger’s vocals, makes one hell of a special treat. It’s off the mark broken breakbeats twist in and out of rhymes about bad news on the telly, moonwalking on thin ice and watering the grass. Close your eyes and feel the buzz.

‘Strange Seeings’ provides an instant flashback to early events of time tripping. It’s clever use of mid range bass riffs and rumbling low hertz will no doubt tip off a variety of train spotters but what’s important to remember here is that Erritate never complies with rules and guidelines.

A nod to many days hitting up derelict walls, abandoned trains and even the odd roller shutter with a touch of spray paint, the tune we like to call ‘MTN 94’ swaps name tags for extra snares and believe us when we say they are in abundance here. Sod it, have a few extra kicks in the breakbeat too. It’s a crush then down style roller that takes no prisoners and leaves no trace, no dust sheets and certainly no spillage.

Finishing things up, the dub version of ‘Garden Tune’ is included for those that don’t like MCs over tunes - we all know a few of them...
