14 years is no small feat: that's how long it takes to replace the kindergarten with the club. And what does one replace the club with after the same amount of time? As far as dj and promoter crew LavaLava is concerned, nothing else. Co-founders Mate Tollner a.k.a. Tolo and Falcao appear in the night sky of Budapest almost as fixed celestial bodies, having invited their cutting edge favorites from the international techno-house scene like Robert Hood, Bicep, Axel Boman, Leon Vynehall, Gerd Janson, Steffi, Roman Flügel, San Proper, Cosmin TRG, Midland and many others over the last decade and a half.

Their adoration for uplifting bangers has never waned, their smiles over the volume faders have never disappeared, their operations have always been steadfast - and now they have taken the natural next step of applying this recipe to a new field: launching their own record label, that is. The imprint launches right away with a solid release, covering almost all kinds of moods that you can find at the boys’ events.

LavaLava001 kicks off with Tollner’s pleasantly funked up and airy warmup track U Should with a thought-provoking piece of advice on it while (spoiler alert) it changes so cleverly on the fly that you won't even notice - a smart move that immediately reveals the creator's knowledge of how dynamics work on a dance floor, often unconsciously. Then come the remixes: next up we get Detroit In Effect, cult figure of the Michigan underground with nothing else but his usual groovy electro steelo, producer mastermind Rydim with a rougher take, and Hungary's very own Gnork, the uncrowned king of cloud-catching atmospherics. Based on this first record, one thing is already clear: the floor is Lava, and it's only going to get hotter. At least twice as much.
