Back before the Netflix series "The Get Down" aired, their music supervisor reached out to me asking me to make a song for the show. The briefing was to "make a funk/r&b/proto-hip hop song that would have been on the radio in the early 80s, but also could be on the radio today". I thought it sounded like an impossible request, so I gave it shot and made this song. I treated it like a fun songwriting/production prompt, though they never did use it. So instead of letting it continue to rot on my hard drive, I'm throwing it on here til I decide to make it private.
