VRSYJNES is a masked music producer from South London UK, specialising in Rare Phonk, Neo Drill, Mellow Grime, Lo-Fi Trap, and Amapiano. VRSYJNES has been making Phonk since 2013, and was one of the only producers from UK pioneers creating the sound that is now known globally. 

Since entering the Phonk scene in 2013, he worked with emerging artists such as Bones, Ramirez, Ojerime, Jebonair, Raider Klan, Dragonmane, Doomshop, Master Flash Yen & Slim Guerilla. His breakout hit "281-330-8004" launched him into the American-based underground genre, where he adapted to the slowed-down & sampled-based soundscapes. His experience within different genres, and various music scenes is what keeps him standing out.

In 2015 he decided to slow down from working with artists and focused on short EP releases. Songs like "No Standing Still", "No Exposure", "Trip To M-Town" & "500K" built him a cult following on streaming websites Soundcloud & Spotify, and eventually got his music played on BBC 1Xtra, Boiler Room, Soulection & Rinse FM.

A lot of things have happened since i released Loading. To be honest everything went downhill. After dropping "The Recharge” with YK (@theofficialyk) & 2 Hour Conversations with Vanati (@VanatiWoods), my laptop died on me. I lost 5 years worth of my work and I am still struggling to come to terms with the reality. 

Apart from that, I became frustrated with the fact that my music had a lack of exposure. That’s what birthed these tracks. Even though some of them were made months ago, I feel that this project signifies the depth of my production, and also has an underline theme of ‘frustration’.

Entirely grateful for each and every single play of any of my tracks. Regardless of how you found my music, be it through the Road Rap days as Versechild, Grime days as Kid Steely & Versatile, through the phonk as VRSYJNES, or through collabs with artists like Bones, Raider Klan, K-Koke and Ramirez/RVMIRXZ, I thank you. 

I could of put out any beat and just say “WOAH 500K THANKS FAM” but i decided to make this crazy beat that I had a lot of fun making, hence the length of the track. if you make it to the end of the track your a legend! (Cue the “lol sounds like sango” comments… i’m ready)

Backstory:
Since making my GRAND ALBUM KNOWN AS PhonkyThoughts2 (https://soundcloud.com/VRSYJNES/PhonkyThoughts2) I had many ideas of what I wanted to do next. This was one of them.

I initially had this remix idea for years and finally tried it in February 2019. It sounded awful. Re-worked it back in May and it sounded a whole lot better, but then I got in my head and took time away from the scene.

During that time I was working on new music, new programs (sup Ableton! FL I love you long time) and figuring out a new direction for my sound. But fear not, I forever stay Tru 2 Tha Phonk, and this song is proof of that.
