Empowering Sekhmet

Sekhmet appears in the shape of a female body with a lioness head. Many details indicate that the well known Sphinx has had a lioness head, before getting replaced with the current top a few thousand years later. Sekhmet means nothing less than:  She, who is powerful. A statement which couldn’t be more accurate. The egyptian deity is a warrior Master, a Master of healing and the destroyer of the enemies of the light Ra. Furthermore she serves as the protector of the Ma’at, the universal code of Balance and Truth. 
 Sekhmet became an important symbol of feminism and women empowerment. Living up to her name, she is representing the strength of women in ancient cultures and mythologies, where men traditionally had leading roles. Ancient Khemitians were aware of the female abilities. Ma’at, the concept of harmony, order and balance in all aspects of life, shows that Egyptian art, architecture, spiritual practices, even governmental agencies all exhibit a perfect symmetry of balance. Gender roles throughout the history of ancient khemit underline this concept. Women were able to have their own business, sell and own property. Egyptologist Barbara Watterson writes: “In short, an ancient Egyptian woman enjoyed greater social standing than many women of other societies, both ancient and modern.”
At Sounds of Khemit we believe that the wisdom of ancient khemit holds many lost but necessary ideologies. Our goal is to bring this knowledge back to life and raise our consciousness to a state of powerful vibrations and frequencies.

▌I How did you prepare this mix and what was your main inspiration?
To be honest I think that a podcast is like a weekend, one is always willing to give the best of oneself and give with great love and happiness to the surprises that life gives us... The selection of music is obviously important, and for me it's a lot of fun since I have my roots as an artist in downtempo, hip hop, reggae, dub... and after 7 years living in Berlin I've already uploaded almost 30 bpm's hahaha, and that's life, like a podcast ! haha a beautiful journey that with its rhythm guides us towards beautiful unexpected surprises!

▌II What’s your history with music in general and DJ-ing especially?
I am a music composer, a conservatory student, and my mother 'forced' me to study music since I was 5 years old hahahah, my two grandparents are musicians, my mother who accompanies me wherever I go (in her spirit) played the guitar and sang Chilean folklore, I have very good memories of her and the meetings in our house! I think one comes directly from there, from our inherited history, from the dreams of other generations, from the love driven to share, to give and to see people happy, cheerful... with bright eyes, and huge smiles... that It's my happiness... your happiness... that's where my spirit lives. That's why I love making music and music has always put me where I have to be...

▌III What’s your favorite drink while being behind the decks in the Club?
"After more than 300 presentations that I have been lucky enough to play live, I can say that:
- If it's hot and we're at the beach, I'm sure I'll go for mineral water and white wine.
- if I'm in a small club and this is very funny, and it generates this hot atmosphere, like disco-sauna hahahah I NEED my 'skinny bitch', I love vodka, I love bubble water and I love lemon! perfect dose of vitamin C, hydration and energy! :D
- at festivals they usually always give beers, which from experience I never accept more than 1, since we all know what happens after 5 beers and 2 hours glued to the stage, yes, I must say that one learns to control, but even I can see how my face changes from happy :) to stressed :( hahaha and you don't want that..."

Cumbia libertad se trata de un compilado de la nueva era de la cumbia, El sello @HawaiBonsaï desde Suiza quiso hacerse responsable en reunir cerebros al rededor del mundo y crear este hermoso vinilo con trabajo con mas de 20 artistas. Me toco ser uno de los últimos en la lista hahaha así que tube que componer un track de 3 min solamente para poder alcanzar a aparecer en este compilado, un trabajo que hice con mucho amor, inspirado en ella y sus rayos de luz de luna que tanto amo ...
La canción la compuse en USA, en Reno, visitando a mi hermano, nos fuimos de viaje un día a South lake tahoe y ahi puse mis audífonos y la canción se hizo sola, llegando después a casa tome la guitarra y tire barrio sobre la canción ... y con unos cuantos vodkas la canción fue terminada, espero la disfruten al igual como yo disfrute creando y dedicando esta canción a un duende muy especial que ame pero termino por transformarse en un chuky <3 !

Time to sit down, burn one down and relax the "Sudamerican Lights EP" sound expedition is here: 

This Ep contains 3 tracks where every song have a different meaning and language; The first track take position as an Intro Edit song and we go straight to Brasil transported by the unique voice of one of the biggest master in music under my opinion, Mr Caetano Veloso; the second one we jump in a higher BPM and country, yes I will drive you now to my land in south of Patagonia, exactly to the Wallmapu (south of Chile), land of one of the last and aboriginal standings "Tribes" we can still find on this planet ... they are still alive and I try to spread they living essence of life with respect and devotion; this is “Mongetun" which means in Mapudungun (they language) "Re-born, back to life" a sign of never give up ... 
For the last part of our sound adventure, we go to Tucuman, land of Mercedes Sosa, she Inspires me with her powerful voice since I was a little child, today I brought to you "Canción del Indio" talking about the sad part of the conquers taking they lands, that is the explication for the musical progression in the track where I try to describe internal emotions and mixing with a bit of history, conscience to finally reach freedom and silence as the last track. I hope you enjoy this journey and thanks for stay tuned.

A blending of many travels, self-recordings and experiences from the great 2017.

Sarao Start with a very spontaneous conversation about our thoughts how the Plante is doing, so I took my handy recorder and I start to record to Don Julio Moncada the last part of his opinion; - He talks about a special place where he is from; where the sing of the birds over the treetops delight the landscape and how the evolution of the city is trying to kill all these beautiful places and our environment … finishing with a strong: “Everyone has a propose in this world, do you know what is yours?” … that was my second day on Mexico …  
The birds were recorded at Sacbé it is in Playa del Carmen, México. Sacbé means white roads/trails, these roads are where the Shamans were to heal people with rituals like Temazcales (very powerful steaming sauna from the Prehispanic times) and other rituals what include sacred plans and so on... that roads was like healing trails on the Mayan Civilisation. The crickets sound from the last part of Sarao was a record on a full moon walking on Sacbé and I finish totally lost in the jungle, so I press REC and keep walking looking for my house… 

Sarao Starts with early birds and finishes with me lost in the jungle on Sacbé… make complete sense for me …   

The tracks where composed during my different Tours in the 2017, what will be released in the next month… 
Thank you very much to all those who made my 2017 one of the most important and best years of my life.
